No one has any photos yet? I really don't have room to spare in a top case or side bag. Was hoping someone came up with an external mount of some kind. Inside the passenger pegs? If you have a top case then you might consider doing something like what I've done on other bikes of mine. It's probably a little too "utilitarian" for the FZ/MT-10 but... Here is a couple of pics of my XT-250 setup. I don't normally have the red tank on top, I just add that if I'm going to really be out in the wild. Usually the MSR bottle gives me enough peace of mind. So far I've only had to use it twice, both times to help people in cars who'd run out of gas. Thank you! Really appreciate it. You're right though, I've no intention of drilling into the top case. Went with a pair of Enduristan Bottle Holsters which I plan to secure atop my Kriega Combo set. Shipment should arrive by tomorrow. I'll post pics of it mounted if it all works out.

The SW Motec rear aluminum rack or another rear rack along with a Rotopax fuel container and mount would be the easiest way to carry extra fuel, Rotopax makes several different sized containers. The only other thing is to keep the bike topped offf anytime you stop, that’s what I try to do, the bike is comfortable but range is limited by the way it consumes fuel, 27-30 mpg is about all I can get out of mine with a flash and 3/4 exhaust. My normal Sunday loop which is about 250 miles takes a full tank from home and 2 fuel stops, my other bike a Tiger 800, makes the same loop with one stop, ridden hard it get 38-40 mpg, but the fun factor is higher on the FZ10. I have been running the SW Motec rear aluminum rack for awhile with a quick release adapter for my Givi top case. Last weekend I came dangerously close to running out of gas in a long remote stretch without gas stations, so I ordered the Rotopax one gallon gas can and mount earlier this week and it was just delivered yesterday. My goal is to mount the rotopax mount to the SW Motec rack using the same quick release connectors that the Givi adapter uses. In the end it will look like the picture that hooli posted, but I only plan to use it on longer trips. I know it isn't the prettiest, but I would much rather have to deal with that over getting stuck somewhere with no cell service. I'll try to post some pics once I figure out the best way to install.

I completely understand that the look is not for everyone but I do plan to mount a pelican case on my luggage rack in the near future. The 1450 case. Not too big, but big enough to carry everything I need 90% of the time and with a bungee net and a couple of bungee cords carried with me I can carry extra stuff on top of the case when needed. Also enough room in the case for one of those 1.5 liter fuel cans. Something like this: www.amazon.com/Primus-Fuel-Bottle/dp/B07CPG7JCT/ref=pd_ybh_a_15?_encoding=UTF8&refRID=H6EE3580P9KG08D0EWHS That's what I'm thinking I'm going to go with on this bike for extra fuel. Here's about what it will look like with the pelican case on the luggage rack. It's just sitting on top of it not mounted in this picture.

I almost always travel with friends (who get much better mileage than my MT-10), so I decided to just buy a cheap fuel transfer pump and jam it under the seat for emergencies.

The rig I went with... Never had need for it but came close once or twice. Thought I'd be able to rig the Enduristan somehow but ended up just using bungees in the end. 5000+ miles.

I don't get it , is that to pump gas out or in? Whichever you want . But in this case, most likely to pump some in from another vehicle. However, there're 3 possible issues. First, the hose could ruin the delicate fuel sensor on bikes, so it has to be inserted very carefully. Second, that method works on gravity, so the fuel level on the 'donor' vehicle has to be higher than on the bike (eliminating most cars and trucks, at least without a can). And third, you can't know how much you're sucking, probably draining too much from a 'donor' bike. Bottom line for me on that solution is you'd be much better off paying for roadside assistance . It's quite cheap if added to your insurance policy, and at least you know you'll have gas for sure after waiting for them.

It's not gravity fed or siphon. It has a pump bulb and can pump any which way. I'm not sure why you think running fuel through this plastic/rubber tube is somehow different than normal fueling or how it'd damage anything, but OK. For me, it's just an emergency recovery to get to a gas station. I can now run 30+ miles into reserve without panicking.
