Hi all i bought a akrapovic end can and a scorpion link pipe, for my mt10 sp im going to get it dyno next week with a full ecu remap i was just wondering if anyone has also changed the standard air filter to a k@n does it run better with it than the standard or is it not really worth it i have seen some youtube videos that swear by k@n . I also have read that you can change the air box trumpets/snorkel and that can help? any advice would be great thanks in advance.

It will most certainly make a difference. The question is by how much. I watched a YouTube video last week that compared air filters on a car while on a Dyno and with the performance filter, I think there was an increase of about 5 HP. I can't remember what channel or what the video was called.
Only issue with performance filters is there can be an increase of dirt into your engine. So for me living in a Desert environment and doing a lot of track days in desert conditions, I won't run race type filters that go for Max airflow.

I won’t use a k/n filter. I have seen them let to much dust pass thru!

For us average street riders I think the little hp gain isn't worth the lower protection from dirt passing through.

I won’t use a k/n filter. I have seen them let to much dust pass thru! exactly hold one up to the light. Unless your on a track I would go with a Dry type filter. K&N air filters are snake oil.
