Hi , I am Barbaros from Istanbul ,Turkey . I was researching for a topic and I found this site. It has been a time since I registered but able to write it now , sorry for the delay .
I have been riding motorcycle since I was 12 years old in 1990. My first ride was a 2 stroke 50 cc Honda Vision which my dad bought me to get rid of his market duties (not a responsible move ).
Over the years I had many bikes most of them was enduro racing bikes ,Kawasak Kx's, Ktm 125,250,300,450 Exc's , Husabergs, Huqvarnas . I was competing in Turkish enduro cups for some years . Later I also raced some European Rallies . As my twins grew up , I had to finish my amateur racing days to spend more time with them .
While I was riding on dirt,I was also having good times on camps with my Yamaha TT600 and Ktm 640 adventure, good old days . Then left the dirt for all . Then I had a Suzuki Gsr600 , sold it because frame was small for my size . Then I bought a Fazer 600 after tens thounsands of kms upgraded it to a Fazer 800 . Sadly it got stolen at 40.000 kms . After that I bought a Ktm 990 Supermoto , that was a very enjoyable bike but the oil leaks over long distances made me sell it . I was bored of checking and cleaning oil in long trips .
While I was taking my kids to a chess lesson in 2017 I stopped at a Yamaha dealership . I saw that Mt10 Sp right near me . But this was not our first meeting with the beast , I have first seen the Mt 10 in Milano Motorcycle Show a year ago ,I liked it and I ordered one by calling a Turkish Yamaha dealer , but they didnt call me back about my order and that heat dissolved over time about the Mt10 . But this was Sp with all those goodies and buttons and near me , ready to hit the roads . And I bought it in 10 mins after calling my boss (wife)..
Now I am riding it across Turkey and Europe in summers . Going to work with it, going to gym with it . I literally forget driving a car .
Now its 1.5 years of ownership with 25000 Km on the dial . 3th set of tires are finished and looking for he 4th. I have just changed the front master brake cylinder with R1 cylinder and yes front brakes were terrible. I installed some protection parts . No remap or ecu wizardry thing .
Always using Motul 7100 10w-50 on my bike and changing it in 5000 Kms at most , wishing to get a 100.000 kms without opening a bolt exept valve check .
Well ,if Ktm dealer cant convince me to buy a Superduke , I think I will keep it for a long time ..

Welcome to the forum! I saw Walterriffc bought a superduke, had to send it in to the dealer for electrical repairs not one week later (he bought it brand new). KTMs are awesome but what ive seen their reliability are sketchy. Yamaha doesnt hold the title for the most reliable bikes for nothing This one guy in this forum told about an ex of his ruining his engine, and he says he cant really find anyone anywhere who has had to open this generations CP4 (MT10 and R1 forum) up to that extent yet, so bad news for him but great news for us

Yes, reliablibity of Yamaha engine is very good , I never had one of them to the service other than regular oil changes . Also this Cp4 engine is rated more than 200+ hp , 140 hp with 11500 rpms will not make it suffer ..
