You won't be sorry, they are a phenomenal bit of kit but (and this is only my opinion) you are going to take away the identity of the bike by losing that front lamp assembly. Why not purchase the bike and see if it grows on you.
I'm not having a pop at you personally here, but why do people think they can better the design of huge companies like Yamaha after them spending millions on design and R&D to then stick some scooter lamp assembly or some other hideous lamp assy and then complain about lack of light! You can't even see it when you're sat on the bike riding it down the street.
I know GR1127 of this very parish has fitted the R1 tail (which incidentally was designed by Yamaha for this very frame) and yeah, it does look amazing (again in my opinion) but generally bikes with different front lights fitted from standard always look unfinished, but hey, it'll be your bike and your decision. Me personally, the front end was one of the reasons I purchased the bike as it was SO different and I dislike the tail more than the lamps.
Enjoy!

In sure youll love the 10. It does have a more uneven powerband, but once it gets onto it, damn does it fly off.
I have to agree with exuptoy about the headlight assembly though. It looks worse in pictures than it does in real life ive noticed.
Also, that assembly in a rear view mirror looks MEAN. Me likey.

I'm the third person that originally disliked the headlight, but at least in my black bike, it looked awesome when I saw it in person. It goes with the bike perfectly, something you catch on when seen in person. It's modern and aggressive, but not overdone or out of place. Just wish both low and high beam were functional on both units, for better visibility and light output at night, but since I rarely ride at night, not a big deal to me. And that micro fairing is enough to accomplish exactly what I wanted: clean wind, but a bit of protection to enable 80/85 cruising without fatigue, and I got exactly that. Haven't seen another such bike in the few months I've owned it, so quite unique. Go for it man .

For me, it's the headlights that really drew me to the MT-10 in the first place, the first time I saw a picture of it the only thing that came to my mind was "That looks like a badass Transformer!" I'm a huge nerd and that headlight spoke to me, then for the next 9 months I've looked at every other sport and naked bike available in the US and I don't find any that I like the look of more, and by and large I haven't found any negative reviews of the bike for over 2 years outside of things that are very opinion based or the stock breaks not having a good bite, but that is easily and cheaply corrected.
I put a down payment on one to get it into town (I wanted the 2018 Yamaha team blue) and next Friday I'll bring my current bike in and trade it in and pay cash for the bike I've been lusting over for almost a year. I couldn't be more excited!
