I was doing some research and realized that the linkage on the R1 is somewhat better than the linkage supplied on the Mt10, so today I did a swap out. The linkage itself is the same but the side plates are quite a bit different and consequently the bolts are needed from the R1 too. I will also be having some replacement Ti bolts made and sized to fit the bushing better as there is a little slop there too, even in the R1 unit and will swap it all over to Ti when they arrive.

Are the thicker ones the R1 linkage?
They look a bit longer, which with my logic would make the swingarm sit flatter (rear end lower).
This might be bad for your steering geometry, as usually you need to increase the swingarm angle on stock motorcycles to make them steer out of corners sharper/better...
Decreasing the swingarm angle from how flat they already are out of the factory can really upset the bike

They are no longer, it's just the dimension of them that make it look like that. They are exactly the same center to center.

Is there any functional improvement from this change? I have a Penske shock and find the rear extremely compliant. I prefer my MT10 now over my previous GSXR1000 that had an Ohlins TTX36 shock

I prefer my MT10 now over my previous GSXR1000 that had an Ohlins TTX36 shock Slightly lighter weight due to the linkages being aluminum instead of steel. The ti bolts will also further lighten things up and are a bit less susceptible to corrosion down there as well.

Also there is a slight amount of slop in the bolts to bushes and, although a mere mortal like me probably won't notice a difference, having the linkage bolts custom made will eliminate that play too.
