Hey, the post I was waiting for. Ha ha. But have a couple of questions for you. Why saw off the bars? I don't get what that does, since the angle of the bars forces the bags to taper to the rear, even if you cut a little bit of them, no? Or do they actually reach all the way to the turn signals and hit them? That I'd understand. He he. At any rate, the main issue I see is the bags tapering towards the rear, especially if our turn signals are wider, which is my next question. But before that, can't you bend the bars a little, to avoid being so close? Now to my last question. I see you have aftermarket (or at least not US market) turn-signals, and they look narrower than mine. Can you please measure them from the furthest point at both ends? Mine with the Vagabond tail tidy measure exactly 14-1/2". If yours are anything less, we're screwed unless something can be done to the bars, since yours clear by millimeters (and probably touch during riding). Thanks brother.

Sawing the bars makes the bags sit a bit farther to the front, making the turn signals completely clear from the bags. The pokets where the bars goes into are wide enough for the bags to still sit properly although you take 2 cm off the ends Yes, those are aftermarket (Genuine Yamaha accessorie whatever) signals and they are a bit narrower, ill bring a measuring tape with me tomorrow, though i dont have a good feeling about them fitting with the vagabound placement... The edge of my signals are just on the seams of the bags, thats why i want to pull the bags forward a tiny bit, so they dont touch the bags while riding. I guess you could bend the mounts however you please theoretically, but i imagine that would take some proper tools and a lot of elbow grease as these things are proper STURDY. Youd propably be better off making your own bars that connect into the male part of the clip. Problem for the vagaboud is, the bags still pivot around the rear of the bike, so there wont be much change in clearance at that level.

Problem for the vagaboud is, the bags still pivot around the rear of the bike, so there wont be much change in clearance at that level. Could you elaborate on that? For what I've seen, the tubes are just held by the passenger peg brackets, right? I've seen bag mounts that connect at the rear, but the reason I'm considering the Blazes is because they supposedly don't. Moving on, making tubes with the exact squared end to fit into the brackets would be quite expensive IMO. But yes, I'd like to completely redesign them. One last favor: could you please take a picture of your bike' rear right from the side, to see your turn-signals' positioning on the bike. If mine are further forward (and wider), then I'm screwed for sure. Thanks brother.

Oh, and the metal bars connect to the connecting bit by a clamping system. As long as your DIY bar has the same diameter, im sure roughly hammerig/clamping it into a rough square shape on the end will make it clamp down just fine.

For the Yamaha licenceplate holder i have, im really happy that it clears the indicators so the indicators sit behind the bags. Im sure here in Finland the cops would have something to say about the turn signals not being fully visible or something like that if that wasnt the case.
An integrated tail light would be the optimal solution but ofcause this is not legal over here, and its something id definitely would be pulled over for constantly.

I remember the blinkers of the vagabound being at around the first bolt of the rear fender? Yep; maybe 1/4" behind, but that's it. That's why I asked you for a picture. There's no way those bags would clear my turn signals; oh well. Yours are at least 3" further back by my estimation, and barely clear the bags. Plus I think mine are wider too, but you never posted their widest spread (mine are exactly 14" at their widest points). Seems like I ran out of options. I wouldn't use anything else, but if I find a similarly mounted system even if smaller, I'd consider it. I don't plan to tour, so not a big deal. Just need stuff for the day, and my current Ogio should be fine. The rest can go inside the truck. Thanks anyway for all your help.

I finally got the measurments. So my indicators are 14 inches, under the first bolt of the fender (the one further in the front) is 13 inches and by the second bold (furthest back) is 12 inches
