Came home today to see this nice scratch on my exhaust. Must have happened in the last 48 hours. I haven't taken the bike out in over a week so I'm assuming it was either the Mrs or my daughter. Seeing that one has the mind of an immature child and the other is 2 years old I'm not going to bother asking who is responsible. Pretty upset as the Akra exhaust is expensive and before this scratch the entire bike was flawless. Is there anything I can do to minimise its appearance or am I stuck with it?

Generally, I've always been told if your fingernail can catch in it when you scratch across it, you're screwed, especially in metal.
Not sure what you can do to minimize it without tarnishing the surface. That sucks. Feel for you brother.

Oh man; looks like somebody 'keyed' your muffler... and doubt it was your daughter. Ha ha. Like RAB said, not much you can do, especially with Ti. Your only option would be to sand the entire can until you're satisfied, then polish it. But again, have no idea if it'd work with Ti. Hopefully somebody can shed some light. I also feel for you brother .

Hey OP, if you can buy a spare can cheaper than a new purchase, or get it reskinned by them (call Akra and ask), I'd attempt to fix it by sanding the entire muffler and see how it looks afterward. If not good enough for you, then just get it replaced with the cheapest option... and put the damaged muffler as an ornament wherever it'd bother your wife the most. Ha ha. Just kidding. Anyway, seems like many of us are as "anal" as you are. And yes, that's one instance when I'd hate myself for being so freaking picky, but unfortunately, we can't help it. Ha ha. But at the same time, at least in my case, I'm only a perfectionist with my toys, so never bother anybody with it except my wallet. He he. You can pretend to have had a lowside, and just replace the muffler if you're busy and don't have time to try to salvage it by sanding it. Good luck brother, and keep us posted.
