Hi there everyone, I picked up a 2018 mt10 a month ago and only had a chance to ride her a couple times. However the fluorescent yellow rims seem to be a magnet for dirt and grime. What does everyone recommend for cleaning them? I tried cleaning them with soap and water with my rim brush but some parts are still dirty. I don't want to ruin the finish on the rims with an abrasive wheel cleaner. Any good recommendations?

I've got over 7,000 miles on my Fluro yellow wheels and don't find them getting dirty much at all. I just give them a little rinse with water and wipe them down, a 2 minute job. I would recommend you put a good application of Wheel Wax (Amazon) or something equivalent, that will seal the paint somewhat and make it much easier to maintain them. What kind of chain lube are you using? Some are more messy than others.....I use Tirox which is a dry, Teflon lubricant and will not fling (also available at Amazon).

Clean with car wash soap and microfiber wash pad/sponge of some sort when you wash your bike - most efficient way. As far as keeping them clean: coat those things in an insulator wax or spray wax or rainx after washing - will make getting all that grime off much much easier. I battled with my white wheels on my CBR for years. There's really no perfect way to do it.

This is what i did when i "super cleaned" them (i have the blue ones).
Keep in mind that Im crasy about keeping a it looking clean when reading this. This method does remove a little of the top layer of paint on the blue ones atleast, but does not affect the finnish negatively.
First i used Auto Glyms wheel cleaner (any wheel cleaner should do).
Then I sprayed a little chain cleaner on a rag and wiped the grease off. The paint did transfer onto the rag a little but no marks on the finnish, and grime came right off (make sure to rinse it thoroughly inbetween).
Sprayed it with iron fallout remover and rinsed off after 5 minutes.
Then i took the wheels off and claybared them (this is the most effective way to clean any surface, grime that has been on for years comes off effortlessly) (this also did transfer a small bit of paint)
A spray of Carpro Ereaser (mild alcohol based oil and polish remover) to wipe them competely clean.
Put Carpro DLUX wheel and plastic specific Ceramic Coating (1 year durability).
After a few hours of cure time, applied Carpro Reload (silica based sealant) that i reapply every 2 months or so (can be applied when wet as a drying aid.
Water just sheets off. Still have to see how it does with proper dirt, vut reviews and videos of that stuff looks promising to say the least!
If you are this crazy, I recommend Carpro. Good stuff at affordable prices.
The sealant isnt the best bang for buck but i threw it in there while i was ordering the other products.
