Hello All, I -joined this forum as a way to get my ducks in a row. I plan on purchasing a new MT-10 in 2019. I just turned 60 and haven't ridden in five years. Why now, you may ask....I have never lost the itch since my first minibike at age 10 years old and I started working at YAMAHA last year which offers a employee discount that I can't pass up. Anyway, I will want to add a few items at the start such as full exhaust and tune. Not really looking for more performance, but have always loved the sound of an inline four. My last bike was a Kawasaki ZX14 and I loved the power and sound. I have been YOU Tubing and everyone that rides the MT-10 is screaming with excitement! Looking forward to contributing to this forum!

Nice pick for a new bike! What part of the world are you in? One word of warning, I rode Z1000's for 14 years before getting my MT-10SP and the power difference is huge! It absolutely hammers. I guess coming from a ZX14 it won't be a huge difference.
Also, your bike should come new with the Yamaha 'tick'. Apparently it is a self adjusting cam chain tensioner.
Post some photos when you get your new bike.

I feel like every new FZ/MT-10 owner should receive this message as part of their friendly welcome. Haha. It would have saved me a bunch of concern and a trip to the dealer (which included a $140 bill just to tell me that’s what it sounds like) during the first couple thousand miles, as I got to know my new machine.

Welcome! You should also know your pipe and tune will void your employee warranty! LOL! Look forward to pics and your view from inside the mothership...

I laugh maniacally in my helmet at least 5-6 times every time I ride the FZ. The most fun street bike I've ever owned, it get's the most smiles per miles!
