I would like to get Maxton again seeing as I got the shock but they are expensive.
From what I have seen ktech aren't much cheaper.
Anyone have any experience from other suppliers like andreani?
I suspect ohlins would be even more.

FRONT
The forks on the MT10 are the new KYB Big Piston forks which are the same as we Yamaha fit to the new R1 and do have problems.
The forks have a lot compression damping, especially when they move a small distance - over little bumps on the road. This shows itself by giving a very hard and twitchy ride. The springs in the forks are a little on the soft side, so the bike dives a little under braking. The MT10 forks also spring back at you when you let go of the brake, this is because there is not enough rebound damping. A lot of people also describe the front as being "vague" and not getting much feedback from the front end, this is a combination of the forks being over damped on compression and under damped on rebound and under sprung. The range of damping adjustment in the rebound and compression screws is prety small, so when you change the damping adjusters you do not notice any real difference in the performance unless you go from maximum to minimum.
We revalve and respring the forks to increase the rebound damping and reduce the compression damping, we also fit harder fork springs to suit your rider weight. The cost of this is £405.00 + V.A.T plus £25.00 + V.A.T for a pair of new forks seals.
The conversion above is a big improvement over the standard set up but there is room for improvement still. We can only improve the damping by as much as the system will allow and we feel as though it could be improved further. If you ride the bike fast or do a lot of track days we recommend either of the following cartridges :
GP30 FORK CARTRIDGE
We replace all the orginal internals for GP30 cartridges with new fork tops. With the GP30 cartridges you then get the benefits of the improved big diameter damping system (more mid corner feel and support under braking) and have a wide range of damping adjustment. The GP30 cartridges are built to order so we valve and spring them to suit you and what you are using the bike for. To fit the GP30 cartridge internals you need to remove the bottom bracket from the chrome tube and clamp a take off between them, then you have somewhere to bolt the GP30 fork cartridges to. This is an experienced job required special tools. This means that the GP30 cartridges cannot be sold as a kit and the forks have to be sent to us. The GP30 cartridge conversion costs £920.00 + V.A.T. To service the forks with new seals, remove the bottom brackets and fit the take off and fit the GP30 cartridges with new oil and seals costs £255.00 + V.A.T. All the prices are for a pair of forks.

SD25 FORK CARTRIDGE
We replace all of the orginal internals with our SD25 fork cartridges. These are a new cartridge that we have been developing over the last 6 months. The SD25 cartridges are basically a smaller version of the GP30 fork cartridges. We have been developing the GP30 fork cartridges over the last 10 years and realized that a smaller, more affordable version is needed. The fork tops that the SD25 cartridges come with look very similar to the GP30 fork tops. The principal of the SD25 cartridges is the same as the GP30, they have separate damping in each leg. The right leg has rebound damping, the left leg has compression damping. Both legs have springs fitted. This means all of the adjusters are at the top of the fork. The SD25 cartridge cost £675.00 + V.A.T per pair plus installation. To service the forks with new seals, remove the bottom brackets and fit the take off and fit the GP30 cartridges with new oil and seals costs £255.00 + V.A.T. All the prices are for a pair of forks.
REAR
The Chassis on the MT10 is basically the same as an R1 from 2016/2018. The rear shock is a cheap unit as far as shock absorbers go and is not rebuildable, we can not buy any seals, guide bushes etc for the shock. The spring on the unit is a little on the soft side for the average rider weight. This causes the back of the bike to squat under power and can make the bike run wide out of corners. The other problem with the shock is there is not enough rebound damping. This makes the back of the bike spring back at you very quickly and makes the rear end ‘yaw’ under power over bumps. Basically the rear of the bike takes too long to settle as the rebound damping is not controlling the spring. The standard shock is adjustable for rebound damping and compression damping, but the damping adjusters do very little.
As we can not buy any parts for the rear shock we only respring the standard shock. We fit a harder spring to suit your rider weight. At the same time we dyno the shock to find its best setting. This costs £95.00 + V.A.T.
For a noticable improvement without comprimise we recommend replacing the Yamaha rear shock. We supply 2 different types of rear shock for the MT10 – the NR4 and GP10 rear shock. Both shocks are built to order, so we valve and spring them to suit your rider weight and what you use the bike for. We also base set the damping adjusters for you, this means you just need to the bolt the Maxton shock to the bike and ride it.
The NR4 rear shock is adjustable for rebound damping, compression damping and preload and costs £460.00 + V.A.T. If you only use the bike for general road use we recommend this unit.
The GP10 rear shock is also piggyback remote shock, this unit is our fast raod and track shock and is adjustable for rebound damping, high and low speed compression damping, preload and ride height adjustment. This unit costs £780.00 + V.A.T. If you use the bike for fast road use or track days we reccomened this unit. The GP10 unit is built to order so we can set this unit up for complient ride if requested to suit general road use. The GP10 unit has a finer and bigger range of damping adjustment, so you can find a better setup to suit you and different tracks.
