I bought my MT-10 three months ago but due to some shitty reasons I've only put 300 kilometres on her. I know the first service is meant to be at 1000k's or the first month but I still haven't had it serviced due to the very low amount of riding I've done.
Should I get the first service done ASAP or can I hold out a bit longer until I put some more K's on her?

Can u just change oil and oil filter yourself? It's very easy, save you tons of money. Pretty sure we have a tutorial in our tech tip section, or just use owners manual.

No need to do anything until the 600 miles (1000 km) mark, or one year. Get out and ride!

I'm like the most non-mechanically minded person on the planet. If there's a way to balls it up, I'll find it. Also wouldn't it effect my warranty?

I changed my own oil and filter, checked and tightened fastners, check chain tension and tyre pressures, good to go.

Hey gang, is it advisable to use a magnetic drain plug on these bikes? Is anybody using one? If yes, please link yours. I typically buy my magnetic plugs from GoldPlug, which are of S/S and very high quality, but don't know if they make them for bikes. If somebody is using one alraedy, rather buy something that for sure will fit . Thanks.

Many people use the GoldPlug MP-02 for no other reason it is a better plug rather than the weird stock plug which uses a hex key to unscrew it. Much more secure and easier with a standard hex head bolt like a GoldPlug. That's the main reason I use it. I'm never convinced that the magnetic insert really does that much. It doesn't hurt but I don't think it is going to save your engine or make much difference in its longevity. Change your filter and engine regularly and you'll be fine. Change to the GoldPlug for the ease of use.
