My OEM Bridgestone S20s aren't due for change for several thousand more kilometers but I thought I would just see what fellow owners were considering for next set of rubber. The S20s are pretty good. Haven't gone too ham to really see what they were like under hard braking or cornering but for just having fun in mountain roads they were great. They are also very good in the rain because yesterday, I was caught out in a thunderstorm that came out of nowhere and the tires had no problem channeling the water away and staying on the pavement.
Previously, I've only had Michelin Pilot Power 3's because when I was starting out as a noob rider, one friend told me they were the best street sport tires so I always went with that. When I got hooked on longer distance sport touring later on, I had the Pilot Road 4's on and those were awesome tires for mileage, grip, and riding in the rain. I could just leave my friends behind while I went ahead in the rain.
Now for next set of tires, I was considering Metzeler M7RR. I've heard good reviews on its mileage, grip in the twisties and wet weather performance. Other choice would be Bridgestone S21. Reviews say the grip with these tires are impressive but haven't really found much about mileage or capabilities in the rain but these tires are pretty cheap. I originally really, really wanted the Dunlop Q3's because I heard they just stick like glue on the road but I couldn't really justify it because of poor mileage and I don't go to the track anyways so a 50/50 tire just wouldn't make sense for me. Poor mileage wouldn't matter so much if I actually used the performance of these tires but commuting and occasional canyon carving doesn't even touch the capabilities of these tires (more tire than I can use?!?). Also, I'm not too sure about the wet weather and cold capabilities of these tires. I live in Vancouver and rain can pour down randomly so I need confidence that my tire is more than up to the sudden change in conditions.
What are other tires that you fellow FZ-10 owners have tried through the years? And what are your next tire choices? I just love talking about anything bike related and would be awesome to hear different experiences.
TL;DR: Choice for next set of tires? Previous tires you have tried and your experience with them.

Iv'e tried alot of tires the past few years and always come back to the Pilot Power 3's for my style of riding but also like the S-20's grip. The Pilot Road 4's were great for mileage and wear, but I didnt like high speed leaning on those tires very much. So yeah, my top choice are the pilot power 3's.

Probably went through at least three sets of PP 3's on my FZ1 and was very happy with them in all respects including the rain. I'll probably go to these when the time comes.
That said, I punctured my OEM S20 rear and had to replace it with the new S21. I'm really impressed with these tires. No rain test yet but they performed really well at the track.
