My brake shoes seized on a ride yesterday and basically melted my shoes and destroyed my caliper. Does anyone know if the rear caliper on a R1s/ R1m will work on a Fz10? I know the part numbers are different but both look exactly the same, have the same bolt holes and design. I believe the only difference is the piston. There is a bunch on Ebay and I'm trying to get my bike fixed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Might be the rotor difference. I think that's what it is on the front wheels but don't quote me on that.

What's interesting is the r1s uses the same rotor disc as a Fz-10 on the rear wheel. I figured that since an r1s has traction control as well, I could use a caliper from a r1s because they are alot cheaper and look identical. I believe the piston is a different size but as long as you had the right shoes I dont see that being an issue. Can anyone weigh in on this?

The R1 caliper carrier is different so a r1 rear caliper will not fit your fz10. I purchased a fixed rear caliper kit for an r1 and it was not compatible due to this difference. The rotor is the same on both bikes.

A quick search of the part number only brings back references to an mt/fz10. Your other possibility might be to buy a used r1 caliper carrier to go with a used r1 rear caliper. There could be brake line or abs sensor issues to deal with so that’s something to check out. I can verify that the r1 caliper carrier has the same exact spacer thickness as the fz10 so that won’t be a problem. Honestly if it were me, I’d buy a new fz10 caliper with a used rotor and and go for a ride.

Is there any other bike that uses caliper B67-2580W-00-00?

I just got off the phone with my old mechanic....he says they only used that model caliper on the FZ-10. He can get me one for $200 take three or four days to get it in. I dont have a choice. Yamaha is a fucking joke to me now....they had to use a caliper that is on no other bike in production by yamaha....I am not pleased that Yamaha did not use the caliper from the R1M/S......would be $40 on Ebay versus $200. I am so done with Yamaha customer service. They are a joke.
