So I have been having a blast on my 18 MT10. Every year, I go on an annual Deals Gap Trip with several other members from a forum called OhioRiders. I have always just taken my touring bike (14 FJR1300). I always jokingly gave guys a hard time for trailering their bikes. Of course after getting the MT, I was peer pressured to ride it to the Gap instead of the FJR. So, I threw some Michelin Road 5s on, and took it on a 1600+ mile trip to the gap. Comfort seat is a must IMO. It tours great, got about 120-135 miles per tank/stop. Railed corners all weekend, then rode it home. It isn't as comfortable as the FJR, but wow is it fun in the twistys. Then a couple weeks later, the opportunity for a track day came up. I have been preparing for my first track day (New Leathers, gloves, back protector, etc). Still on the Road 5s, I took the MT to the track. Had an absolute blast. I am definitely going to be doing more track days in the future. So, this bike really is a do it all bike if you really want to. I look forward to more touring trips and track days on it. Here are some pictures for fun. Loaded up before leaving Ohio for Townsend, TN. 8AM Dragon Run More Dragon Photos Track Day Photos

I used to have a 2007 FJR. I didn't like the limited cornering clearance, but maybe it improved a little with your '14; who knows. At any rate, how is your MT clearance compared to the FJRs? I want the best compromise of comfort and cornering clearance, since my 56-yr-old knees are not as resilient as they used to be. What I like about the MT-10 is that it has the lowest pegs of the segment, but still decent cornering clearance. Seems like it has enough to have fun, and allow the knees not to hurt on long days in the saddle. I don't like to add a winscreen, so will haul it in my truck instead. That's why I want a nakes now. He he. Never enjoyed slabbing on a motorcycle in 100º heat.

On the MT, I have touched pegs down a couple times, but usually when I'm getting lazy towards the end of the day and not moving off the seat. With correct body positioning, clearance has not been an issue. Here is a pic of my FJR dragging for reference..

Well this reply didn't work out the way I planned, but...
Track looks like Mid Ohio?? Great track.
Windshield looks like a Givi tall? How did it perform? Not for every day riding but long trips I would enjoy the lowered beat down affects of the wind.
Can't wait to get down to the dragon this year, maybe this fall.....

Yes, that is Mid Ohio. Fun track, super friendly coaches, and very well organized. Yes, that is a Givi tall, it really like it. I can actually open my visor and not get ridiculous amounts of wind hitting my eyes.
