Fz this Fz that so much fun talking about all the cool things you do and how fast you go blah blah blah...oh and upgrade this upgrade that...just want to go faster blah.
So there is lots of talk about the 10 and such, but has anyone received a speeding ticket yet?
I consider myself a good driver and a competent rider (no tickets or accidents on my record), but I just got pulled over by an unmarked, blacked out charger with tinted windows and regular licence plates that I followed going 80 mph down the freeway (I checked it out very well before exiting onto the off ramp (should have listened to my gut)). He ended up following me and clocking me going 98 in a 65 (though I was going 125 at some point), he was nice enough to tell me I had a "nice bike" (duh) and gave me a just a warning for not signaling while changing lanes. The officer also told me to "take it to the track and to obey the speed limit" (also duh). He also came back immediately gave me my ticket turned around and then sped off like he had things to do (letting me know he was driving a v-8 with police flashed ecu!) loud and in his dust. He also let me know before rocketing off in the sunset that he could have taken me to jail for something something (wasn't really paying attention) blah!
So I ask all you fast freaks out there any of you get a speeding ticket on your fun machine yet? If so how much? Guess how much mine was for!?
Winner gets a feel good prize of the day!!!

Sorry you got a ticket. You’re a bad man! I guess.....$250.
I got pulled over a couple months ago by a motorcycle cop. I was doing 85 in a 65. He gave me a warning, for which I was very grateful. I deserved a speeding ticket. I’m very happy that I didn’t get one, though, because my job depends on my clean MVR. And, my CDL means that I don’t have the option to take "driving school" to erase a ticket from my MVR.

I haven't had a speeding ticket in about 12 years, and that was in a car doing 70 in a 60 zone. Where I ride there aren't many po po's so I don't worry about speeding tickets, but I always do 60 in the area where I got my ticket a dozen years ago even though I haven't seen a cop there since.

I ride with a passport 360 max, plus my son is a dps trooper, im an er doc and i train the local cops in bjj and boxing so i am fortunate. I dont get tickets but outside my county the passport radar detector which works really well is a godsend.

He was warning you because at least in our state if you are double or over the posted limit they can technically take you in instead of ticket but it's more of a hassle for them so unless you were in a prolonged chase or other situation a ticket is usually all you'll get. As to a guess 33mph over the posted I would say more like 500.00 if you're in California. Possibly can take online driving course so it won't be points on your DMV but that depends. Good luck in any case.

It's been over 2 years since my last ticket. 97 in a 55. In the middle of nowhere. No traffic. (except of course for one other vehicle) Texas State trooper. They will never, cut you any slack. I know this from experience, living in Texas for almost 20 years. Cost me 3 bills and 2 points on my license. (as I recall) Painful.

Sometimes they do, but rarely. I was doing more than that, but the trooper liked my car, and since I have a perfect driving record, just gave me a warning . I knew my radar wasn't any help without traffic, but when you're the only car for hundreds of miles, no way I'd do the speed limit, even on my F-150. Ha ha. The problem in TX is they never updated the law regarding defensive driving. You used to qualify with 90 or less, meaning 35 over the 55 limit. Well, it's 80 now, so even if you only do 11 over, you can't take defensive driving. That sucks. So I'm usually pretty careful when exceeding that, but done enough, we'll eventually find a lone cop in the middle of nowhere. Ha ha. On my bikes, I never carry anything, so just fully focused on riding, and playing cat and mouse with the cops, speeding when open, and slowing down on hills, or when I see an oncoming car. Still a perfect driving record, even though I speed a lot. Or at least I used to. Sold all my sports car and now only have an ecoboost F-150, so can barely speed. Ha ha. And it'll be the same thing with my future bike, be it the FZ-10 or a similar naked. Can't speed too much before getting fatigued, so won't speed much anymore either on car or bike, which is a good thing, I guess . Be careful out there gang.

Back in the day I personally financed route 81 construction between Scranton, Pa and the NY border with my speeding ticket payments.
Pa even put a sign on their border with a price list a speeding ticket would cost based on miles per hour.
We were lucky back then, paying a ticket in one state never showed up in your home state records.
Also tried using radar detectors: I'm sure they've improved but to me at the time they weren't worth the stress of all the false alarms.

Update.
Ticket was $440. Reduced to 4 bills for clean record. County I was in does not do deals or let you take a driving class to remove or reduce tickets. Called some folks and they all audibly winced when I said the county and said it was a state trooper. They all wanted to charge me $600 flat fee for their time. I just took it up the b-hind and payed the ticket. And yes a couple more mph and could have gone to jail. The officer could have given me a break just by not clocking me over 100mph. Last I saw was 125 so could have been worse.

^^^ Lesson learned. Governments are strapped for cash, don't give them an opportunity to pick your pocket.
