I have the 2018 matte gray MT10. Thinking of painting a few of the plastics parts matte gray, like the rear fender hugger the little plastic wings above the tail light and the two plastic thingys under each headlight. Color rite still does not have the matte gray listed for the 2018 Mt’s. I called color rite a while back and they said Yamaha never sent them the paint code, they can’t do anything till Yamaha gives them info. 2019’s are fixing to come out. My Yamaha dealer can’t even get matching paint and said that I have to go thru color rite that there the only ones that supply Yamaha’s paint. When a bike comes in to the dealer and needs paint work they have to go thru color rite. I know Yamaha used a matte gray on some previous bikes like the Stryker around 2015 that was matte gray, but not sure if it’s the exact same gray.

So I checked out color rites website again and they still do not have 2018 MT-10 listed yet. They do have the 2018 MT-09 listed in matte gray. I’m guessing that it’s the same matte gray that yamaha uses on the 10 also. Can anyone confirm that the mt09 & mt10 matte gray are the same?

2017’s are listed on color rite’s website, but not the 2018. So are you saying the 2017 and 2018 colors are different? That's news to me. What's the difference? Glad I read this, since I eliminated the 2017 because didn't like the combination, and was assuming the '18s were the same. Maybe I need to see one in person to reconsider my decision. I MUCH prefer a black one, but seems like I won't be able to get one at a decent price (everybody with one wants '18 money for it; they're nuts). Was going to get something else, but now I might consider a gray. Need to look for internet pictures back to back and see if it's something I'd compromise with. The color is not bad on either year, but it's just those damn wheels; they're too much for me, but if I have no option, maybe. The purple one (yes, it's purple. I saw it with my own eyes  ) is absolutely out of the question for me, as is the 2017 gray/yellow. Thx. |

The 18's are a matte grey vs. the glossy Armor Grey....quite a bit different in the flesh. More stealthy than the '17 model, but it does have the same fluro wheels. Might be worth a look if you are ok with matte finishes and if you can accept the bright wheels.
