I just ordered the Hindle 3/4 system with their stealth oval muffler for my 2018 MT-10! I ordered through my dealer and they were able to give me an additional 15% off, so it's only costing me $600 CAD!
Now that I've got that coming, I figure I should get block off plates. Will installing block off plates throw engine lights, or will it be okay? I don't want to buy them if I'll have a check engine light on all the time.
Thanks in advance!

So it will cause a check engine light to appear?
I'm trying to avoid a flash because I don't want my fuel economy to go down from where it is, and I'm happy with the power my bike has! Plus I don't believe they can flash 18's yet, correct?

Installing block off plates WILL cause a check engine light to appear due to the fact that you have to disconnect the servo but you can buy a "Servo Buddy" to plug in and complete the circuit to trick it and make it think that the servo is still there. You will also get one if you disconnect the O2 sensors or the EXUP motor under the seat that runs the valve in the exhaust. If you did get a 3/4 system that replaces the catalytic converter due to the fact that the bike is already lean in fueling and opening up the exhaust will only make it worse. An ECU flash for the exhaust will tell the bike the correct fueling and be able to take care of all of your CEL's. Im sorry to say that if fuel economy is one of your concerns with this bike you may have purchased the wrong one... I personally am okay with it because like has been said before smiles per gallon is high. Mad

If you aren't looking to do a reflash and are happy with the power in stock form I'm not quite sure why you are going to a 3/4 system unless you just want more NOISE or like the look. You'll save some weight by removing the cat but since you are happy with the performance already this won't make much difference to you. You almost have to do a reflash to bring fueling into line once you remove the cat. Perhaps just a slip-on (no cat removal) would have been a better choice in your case.

So far my overall average is 6.2 L/100kms. I think that's like 38mpg. I mentioned fuel economy in my OP because I've heard of guys losing 5+mpg after a flash, and that's something I absolutely don't want. Stock the bike has perfect power and fuel consumption for me, I don't want to wreck that. I'll have to look Into those servo buddys, thanks for the tip

Yeah it was 100% to make the bike sound better. When I'm riding a fast bike and all I hear is wind, the bike is too quiet lol. The Hindle to me sounds the best, and they don't offer just a slip on option. I would have preferred the slip on route, but it was hard to find one that was much louder than stock. At least that's what I read

Yeah, I think you want to try a slip-on tip, if all you want to accomplish is a better look and a different/better sound. Try taking the stock can off, and run it with no tip at all, to get a feel for volume. It may be louder than you think. A lot of slip-on tips are nothing more than straight-through tips, so while they may affect resonance a bit as the sound waves exit your new slip-on tip, they won’t affect volume.
Keep the catalytic converter, don’t mess with a re-flash, save a bunch of money to spend on something else, and enjoy the slip-on tip for a season or two. If it’s still in great shape after that season or two, you can sell it and probably get at least half your money out of it again.

You could technically leave the AIS motor and the servo motor in and you won't generate a CEL, but I have to echo what everybody else is saying.
There's really not much sense in getting a 3/4 system and not getting your ECU flashed. Even just for sound. You're probably going to run into more problems anyway. I did a 3/4 system and in the brief time that I had the system on before I was able to get it to my guy to flash, the bike backfired like nothing I've ever heard before. It was LOUD. People riding behind me would tell me they could feel the pop in their bones.

I'll have to try that!

I ended up taking the stock can off, but it was still hard to hear the bike over the wind. I also wear ear plugs. My FZ 09 with an M4 exhaust had the perfect sound level. Hopefully the Hindle with the stealth muffler is similar.
I decided that I'll send my ECU to 2wdw once I get my exhaust in. I'm pretty easy lm the throttle, so hopefully I don't lose too much fuel range! My guess is a 25 km range loss.
