Hey everyone! I picked up an 2018 MT-10 a few weeks ago, and I'm loving it so far! I'm looking to start upgrading my MT-10, and have some questions!
Block off plates. Are they necessary? I didn't have them on my FZ-09 with the M4 exhaust, and I didn't run into any issues. I'm from Canada, and bike parts aren't as easy to get up here. I'm looking at Hindle for the exhaust, but I am struggling with which muffler, the Evo, or the Oval.
I'd really rather not get a flash done to my ECU. I've read that some members have had significant fuel mileage hits after flashing, and that isn't something I'm interested in at all. The bike has plenty of power for me anyway. On a side note, I'm getting pretty great fuel mileage as it is. I average 6.2 L/100kms, which converts to 38MPG. The range I'm seeing is 260 kms, or 161 miles to a tank, which is pretty good! I usually fill up around 200-220 kms just when the fuel light comes on.

Welcome to the forum. When I went to an aftermarket exhaust, the backfiring was very very loud and frequent. Way louder than any other bike I've owned. I had a friend who was riding behind me, told me he could feel the shockwave travel through his body Everytime it backfired. There's no way I could've rode 2 up with it.
I got block off plates and an ECU flash and fixed all that and helped the bike run the way it should. Our bikes are held back from the factory due to emissions.
So i guess if you're on the fence, prepare that if you go to an aftermarket exhaust, you may need to consider both.
Moving this to the exhaust section.
