This subject was brought up on the ADVRider thread and it got me thinking...
I wouldn't mind a 1" - 1.5" drop as long as the bend stayed pretty much the same. As comfy as OEM is, it's a bit too upright especially running naked.
What brand & spec spec are you running and how do you like it?

I kept my stock bars but flipped my mounts around.
They are offset to the rear as they come from the factory. The difference is only about 5mm but for me, it made all the difference in the world. I instantly felt more comfortable. Just that little bit of extra forward lean.

There isn't really much to see. They look stock. You take the top part of the clamps off, take the handlebars out, loosen the bottom bolt enough to rotate the bottom clamp 180°, tighten them back down again and reverse the disassembly to reassemble. But here's a pic Dave

Did you have to adjust anything else like cables? I'd like a little more lean over the bars and this seems like an easy thing to try.

If you're moving the handlebars forward and/or lower, no need to worry about cables. It's only when you raise them or add pull-back.

This link rules, I was going crazy looking for lower bars... The angle and height is exactly what I am aiming for. Why it wasn't sold like this from the start is beyond me. Thanks for the work, research, and post.

As far as the ease of this? I found a few things that were a little difficult. Hopefully my experience will help others should that do this change. The nut that you need to loosen under the triple clamp is difficult to get to. It is a 14mm socket and after trying several different sockets and drives , I found that you need to turn the steering all the way in each direction to get to the nut. I needed to use a universal joint and several long extension pieces to be able to loosen due to several bike parts in the way. And the nut on the right side could only be accessed but taking the little clamp off of the throttle cables close to the center of the tank and getting the socket with u joint in behind. You will see what I mean once you start. The bars themselves, I used a frame above the bike and suspended the bar with he controls with adjustable straps. Other wise it will flop and bang around. . Lastly. Make sure you thread the nuts back on loosely..... then tighten the bars, then tighten the nuts, then loosen the bars and rotate to exactly where you want them. Not doing so could potentially have the relationship between the U shapes and the two mouts to not be lined up correctly. Securing the bar tightly will automatically line up the rotational orientation before tightening the bottom nuts. Make sense? I have not ridden with the change as it has been pouring rain all day but It definetely feels a little different when I sit on the bike . At 6’5”, the little extra reach is desired. Thanks!
