Hi all, Looking at wiring an alarm into my bike, but got a couple of questions. I was planning on wiring the alarm into the indicator wiring at the rear of the bike. However looking at the wiring diagram there is one thing I have noticed that has raised a couple of questions. Basically, according to the wiring diagram in the service manual, it shows that each indicator is individually wired back to the LCD Display. The internal circuitry of the LCD Display controls the indicators. So the questions I have are as follows... - If I wire into the rear indicators and the alarm is pulsing a 12v DC signal will it cause any issues with the LCD Display or the CANBUS system? I don't want to risk damage to anything.
- Will wiring into just the rear indicators make all 4 (front & rear) flash? Seeing as each one is individually wired back to the LCD Display I'm not sure if wiring into the rear will only make the rear flash and the fronts will need to be wired up seperately.
Any help / advice greatly appreciated!
Thanks

I installed a Scorpio system on my bike. I connected the turn signal flash to both of the rear indicators and it flashes both rear turn signals ONLY.
Cheers,

Thanks, so just to clarify your Scorpio Alarm is only connected to the rear right turn signal, but the alarm flashes both front & rear turn signals on the right? Correct?
So if I connect to the rear left & right turn signals then all 4 should flash?
I take it you have had no problems with the dash or anything?
Thanks!

SORRY. I just double checked the install and I DID connected the flashing system to both rear turn signal wires and BOTH REAR signals flash. Fronts DO NOT flash.
No dash problems or any other issues.
Sorry about the mix up.
Cheers,

Ah!! So the front is isolated from the rear and will require wiring up separately in order to make them flash which I honestly don't know if I can be bothered with. Also not overly keen on the only rear light flashing scenario.....hmm, might fit the alarm without the indicators wired up as it seems to be more hassle than it's worth.
Thanks very much for checking, has been a huge help. Need to decide exactly what I'm going to do now.

One final question for you mrhix, or for anyone with an alarm fitted that flashes their indicators when arming / disarming the system. When you arm & disarm your alarm do the indicator signals on the dash light up also? The answer to that question will help me determine a bit more about the internal circuitry of the dash.
Thanks in advance!

Anyone with an alarm who can please advise if the turn signal lamp lights up on the dash / display when arming & disarming the alarm?
Thanks!

Ah-ha!!! Exactly what I was hoping to hear to be honest. Indicates there are protection diodes / circuits in place to prevent back feeding of voltages messing with the system.
That answers a lot and makes the wiring diagrams a lot clearer, as they just show small boxes within the “main dash” box on the drawings. Appears each of these smaller boxes are isolated circuits within the unit as the wiring to the indicators is shown separately from the bulb on the dash.
So looks like when you turn in the indicators the dash sends a signal to each indicator that is needed and a separate signal to the bulb on the dash.
Answers all my questions. Just need to get some time to install the alarm now.
