FT ECU Autotune. Disclaimer: I have no affiliation with FT ECU or 2WDW. A couple weeks ago I installed the FT ECU autotuner. Nels at 2WDW flashed my ecu with the license key. I had a local muffler shop cut out one of my o2 sensors and weld in the proper o2 sensor bung that is required. (standard automotive o2 sensor bung) The purpose of the autotuner is to adjust air/fuel delivery based on real-time conditions. If I make a change to the fuel I'm using, altitude I'm riding at, my exhaust, air filter, etc., the sensor will detect those changes and "auto tune" the bike in real time. After a few hundred miles, I am seeing a 10% improvement in fuel economy. For 18 months prior to installing this, I had a 2WDW flash, and the bike ran great. Since upgrading to the FT ECU system, the bike is even smoother and feels like I have more power, though I have not put it on the dyno to confirm. I'm super happy with how this turned out.

If my bike could travel at the speed of light, would my headlights work?

Totally agree. It’s like when plug and play first came out for computers for those that remember that. Automatic corrections to the fuel map constantly.

I am happy with my map, but I don't know how much of an effect it has had on my mileage. I am generally keeping under the 7000 revs for breakin and I'm averaging 28 mpg. I don't have much of a control sample because I got the bike flashed almost immediately, so i don't know what my mileage would have been like w/o autotune.

Awesome! So I’m fixing to get mine flashed soon. I am going to be running the yoshi Alfa t 3/4 exhaust which already has a larger bung installed so I’m guessing that’s so you can install the 02 sensor for an auto tune. The pipe also had two smaller bungs for the factory o2 sensors which I’ll be plugging since the flash disables those. Down the road if I decide I wanna install the auto tune on mine will the ecu have to be reflashed for this?

Lots of people have encountered issues when leaving the OEM o2 sensors in. If you're going 3/4 I assume you're putting in block off plates, and the o2 sensors are easy to get out with the tank off.
