My seat concepts seat should be arriving back to me tomorrow. I tried to install it myself with no luck at all. Ended up sending the whole thing back to them to do it correctly. I will report back on how great it is after some seat time I’m gunna try and install myself. Bought an air stapler that they recommended. I finally got to ride with the new Seat Concepts seat and after 100 miles it's great, definitely more comfy. The weather has gone downhill again so no more riding for a couple days.

I think the comfort seat was a must have for me! well worth the money as I grabbed it off ebay brand new from a company for 225$. As for that wear problem some people have I just went out and bought the little felt tabs with adhesive on the bottom. You usually put them on the bottom of the 4 points of a chair on hard wood floors. I have since colored them black with a marker and put them just directly under the points so they make no contact with the tank itself. You cant see them at all after I colored them. What a great little 2$ fix and I wont ever have to worry about that problem.

Have about 6k miles on my Comfort seat.
And although it still looks like new, I see where the rubbing could eventually become a problem. Thanks for bringing up this observation.
May do the felt pads or something similar.

I know this is an older posting but I think you are the right audience for this question. Is the comfort seat pan the same as the standard seat pan? I have the comfort seat but have the tearing issue with the seat cover at the tank and may go for Seat Concepts. I didn't get the stock seat with my used FZ-10 and Seat Concepts wasn't sure if the pans were the same.

They looked identical to me when I swapped them, including markings, so I'd say with 99% certainty yes. I left 1% because I'm baffled why they don't fit at the front like stock. If you're going to destroy the comfort seat, you should sell it in exchange for a stock one and ask for a $100 or so. Good luck.

Given that I'm in Canada, shipping and exchange rates make it cheaper to work with the comfort seat pan. I'm seeing a guy on friday that modified my Multistrada seat for comfort earlier this year. I'll be interested to see what he suggests to stop the problem on the comfort seat before investing in the Seat Concept's option but wanted a back up just in case.

I have an extra stock seat that I was going to have recovered (nothing wrong it)...just wanted MY design adding some red to the mix! I've never gotten around to it though, and it's collecting dust right now. Maybe we could work something out...either in trade or sell it to you outright

I'm sure the fit issue is due to the way Yamaha built the seat, so if you peel off the base, the Seat Concepts skin should fit just like if you had a stock seat, so I wouldn't worry about that. But if you need to reuse the foam, or something, then absolutely ask them first.

I will have a better understanding of my options when I see my seat guy on friday and will get back to you.

Basically, I did everything that others have tried. It looks like it worked so I will continue with the comfort seat. Thank you for the trade suggestion.
