Installed the GYTR quickshifter on my 17. I can not get the ECU to recognize it at all. I've checked the connector, it's secure. I've gone through the activation steps probably well over a dozen times and QS will not light up on the dash. At this point maybe it's a bad unit? Any help would be appreciated!

I agree with you (bad unit). It was a simple procedure with no problem.

In my experience you need to start the initiation process with the transmission in first gear (not neutral). So from first gear shift into second gear (clutch lever in), hold pressure on the shift lever and turn on the ignition. Hold it for 20-30 seconds (the 10 seconds in the instructions is often not enough), then release pressure on the shift lever. You should see the QS marking on the screen. If that doesn't work you may well have a defective unit.

I didn't have any problems either. I went from neutral to second, hold pressure on the shifter, then turn ignition to on. I did a lazy 10 seconds (more like 15).
It's a pretty simple unit. If this doesn't work and you are sure your connections are good, you may have a bad one. When I was trying to unplug the white connector, I inadvertently unplugged another single bullet connector I only noticed when I was putting things away. Not sure what it was for, but you may want to check you didn't do the same thing.

It took me a few tries, and it was closer to 30 seconds for me as well.
