Hey guys, I tried to piece together what I could but I'm looking to see if anyone can answer a couple questions for me about going to a full exhaust. Currently on a 2018 MT10 on factory exhaust and I want to go to a Graves Hexagonal full exhaust.
1) Do I need / do you recommend I get a power commander? 2) I'm hearing about an auto tuning o2 sensor, any thoughts or recommendations? 3) If I get a power commander, where is a good place to order a custom tune for the bike. 4) Anything else I might need? Block-offs? Relocation brackets? 5) Any tricks to doing this work myself?
Thanks everyone!

The response kind of depends on what you intend on doing with the bike. In max performance, race use, I would recommend a professional dyno-tune with a system for Auto Tuning the ECU. I don't like to make recommendations on this one because in my experience, good dyno tuners adapt certain systems that work best for them for different reasons. You'll get different answers from different tuners on what the best is. A dyno tune would be a good onetime option to establish a good baseline to run your bike. Once again, depending on the tuner, they may recommend a piggyback system like a fuel management system. And at the very least, you should get an ECU flash with a full exhaust. This is the most basic/cheapest option, mostly reserved for people who want the look and sound of a full exhaust but don't care much about performance. I hate to link to another forum, especially for a different bike, but a member on the ZX6R forum that I'm on wrote up a GREAT explanation on these different systems and what is best (in reference to power commanders and other fuel management systems vs ECU flashing and fuel mapping): zx6r.com/mechanical-technical/32338-breakdown-fuel-management-systems.htmlAs for your answers to question 4 and 5, you'll most likely be getting rid of the AIS system and putting in block off plates at the very least. This is something you can do yourself to save yourself some money, as it may add another hour or so onto your labor costs. You would go this route for like an ECU flash, trying to time it with the maintenance of your spark plugs/air filter change and probably a good time to check valves as well; BUT: a lot of dyno tuners might already have it factored into the package cost of doing a dyno tune for a full exhaust. Also, if you go with a fuel management system or an autotunner, you're gunna be plugging stuff into the electronics of the throttle bodies/fuel injectors which is basically at the same level you would do the install of block off plates. So you might not save money for doing the block off plates yourself if you go those routes. What you could save money with is doing your maintenance at the same time. With the tank and airbox off, replacing your spark plugs, air filter, and checking your valve clearances would save on labor costs.

Order PC-V from Fuelmoto.com. tell them what changes you've made to the bike and they will install custom map b4 they send it.

Also. I did full exhaust. Yoshimura Alpha Ti system. And did cat delete so I did PC-V and ECU Flash.

Sorry off topic but how do u like ur Yoshi Alfa T? I’m thinking of going with this exhaust. Does it have a deep throaty sound to it? Are u running the dB killer in it? Thanks

Thanks It is beautiful GP sound. Definitely a lower note than the stock, louder at idle but doesn't get extremely loud at higher revs. Note: Decat+stock can= extremely pissed off neighbors. Decat+Yoshi Alpha Ti w/ db silencer= Perfect, although if I could take silencer out I would. But the key/set screw was stripped when my cousin tried to use an SAE hex on a Metric hex. Another Note: I got new set of bolt extractors, I'm gonna try again. Ask me in a cpl weeks how it sounds...

The header and can are both smooth bore/honed To. Both Yoshi. Header I bought used of a 15 R1 with 16k from a brother in my MC.

Would love to hear it. Hopefully in the next week or so I’ll be ordering one for my MT-10

You might want to look at the 3/4 system if you are don't mind the longer silencer (quieter than full system but still barks). Only 0.5 HP and 2.4 lbs difference between the two and more than $900 difference in price. Cheers, MrHix

Just unbolt existing and mount the new parts that have stock mounting points. The only part that gets a little involved is removing the servo and cables for the ExUp/butterfly valve. I think I got the slip on exhaust Yoshi Alpha Ti ($515 USD), DanMoto Ti cat delete ($95 USD)and the Graves Servo-Buddy ($70) installed myself. Just line everything up nice nice and torque to specs.

My suggestion: 3/4 exhaust is all you need if you want volume. There's literally nothing out there that will perform any better than a set of stock headers. Remove the AIS and install block off plates and have it flash tuned for those mods. The tuning can disable AIS, the EXUP, the O2 sensors, smooth throttle response, and increase performance. anything else and your just throwing $$ at the bike for no gain. Graves offers a tricky cat delete mid pipe called the Graves EVR pipe that retains the EXUP. If you want better bottom end the EXUP is the way to get it, no amount of tuning will compare without it. Nice feature is that it keeps things relatively subdued until the valve opens up, then it's basically a straight pipe.
