Although I picked up my new FZ-10 on Saturday, today was the actual first ride. I logged a whole 51 miles. First off, considering that the bike is in the "break in" stage, I have the settings set at standard power and 2 TC. In my opinion, breaking in a bike is the absolute worst. Going by the manual, they say to avoid spending very much time above 5900 RPM for the first 600 miles. That really sucks, but I want to do the right thing so..... First, the throttle was extremely glitchy when I first took off. Had I been in a higher power mode (B), I would imagine that the bike would have been all over the place. It did seem to calm down a little after 30+ miles. My CBR 954RR doesn't have that problem, but then again, I bought it with 16K miles on it. It's buttery smooth. The FZ feels EXTREMELY light and nimble. It takes much less effort to maneuver at slower speeds than the 954RR or my Raider (cruiser). The Raider feels like a tank (Harley) compared to the 10, heavy and awkward. I did find one major issue with the FZ. Does that brick-bat of a seat ever break in, or should I plan on forking over $330 for the Yamaha "touring" seat??? That thing seems soft when you push down on it with your finger, but is hard as a rock after several miles on you butt. I wasn't blessed with a built-in padded rump and after only 51 miles, my ass end is a little warm. Over all though, the bike is awesome. I'm really looking forward to getting past that stinking 600 mile mark.
Any advice or comments concerning that boulder of a seat would be helpful and MUCH appreciated.

The seat stays hard as a rock, unfortunately. I bought the comfort seat and that made it better but after longer rides 150+ my ass is sore.
