Looking at getting some chain lube for my new MT-10. What brand works best at staying on the chain and not flinging all over my rear wheel? What have you had good luck using?

I have always used whatever synthetic chain lube i could get online, but i have also never had a very clean chain (well lubricated, but ugly). I am interested in tirox chain wax after reading this thread fz10.org/thread/723/preferred-cleaning-products-techniques but it doesn't seem like their product is very water resistant (based on the reviews I've read).

Some years ago DuPont had a lube theat had Teflon that worked great, then they changed the formula and it didn't work any longer. Then about two years ago I found Tirox Chain Wax which ended up even better. Sprays on dry and never flings, I'm never going back to the sloppy products you'll find at your local bike shop. Buy it from Amazon. I've heard it doesn't hold up in wet conditions but I don't ride in the rain so no issue for me. Besides you should always lube the chain after riding in the wet.

Been using Maxima chain wax for awhile. Doesn't fling a lot of gunk that I've ever noticed. Used to use DuPont but switched after they changed the formula. Maxima 74920 Chain Wax - 13.5 oz. Aerosol www.amazon.com/dp/B0012TZ1RU

To throw a different recommendation out there, I use Bel Rey Super Clean. As long as you don't immediately jump on the bike and take off after doing the chain, it won't fling wax on your wheels.
It sprays on white, making it very easy to see where you got it and what spots you might've missed. It sprays on liquid so it penetrates well (thats what she said) but then it solidifies and sticks really well so it won't fling as long as you give it maybe 5-15 minutes. Also comes with a straw so it helps target the spray into the o rings.
It is all I have used over the past maybe 4-5 years. I run my bikes very agressive, only at the track and in the canyons and with lubing my chains every 300-500 miles and cleaning them monthly to bimonthly, all of my chains and sprockets have well exceeded their expected mileage

I use chain wax on my MT-10, not bothered which brand, but i don't spray it on as i find it to much messing about trying not to get the over spray all over the bike, surrounding area and on occasions when windy me, so i spray a little in a beaker and use a paint brush to apply it.

I also use Bel Rey Super Clean and agree with what RedAndBlack said above. Definitely a quality product.

Motul _factory - white and tacky - used it for years and it's pretty good at not flinging. Motul_standard - clear and slightly more flingy than factory version but definitely greasier. Both of the above give me more drive chain noise(especially the factory/super tacky stuff) than greasy flingy lube.
Stuff that actually lubes helps minimise drive chain sounds/clatter on my bike.
I no longer go for the tacky stuff.
After 15,000km's I'm now only using yamaha's own yamalube, clear.
