Been lurking here for weeks while I researched the FZ-10 and after putting down a deposit this past weekend I figure it's time to make it official and register. Hopefully, this coming weekend, I'll be picking up a 2017 black FZ-10. This will be my 5th bike since I started riding in 2011. Past bikes: - 2011 Ninja 250
- 2006 CBR600RR
- 2013 Street Triple R
- 2015 CBR600RR
I have a great group of riding buddies and try to get out on the back-road/twisty road rides when I can. Sadly, about 95% of my riding is commuting to/from work (otherwise I'd never get to ride) which is partly why I'm moving on from the supersport bikes. My 600RR's were pretty comfy (compared to the other sportbikes) for commuting, but still left something to be desired. I tried to get away from sportbikes with my Triumph but something never really clicked with me on that one. Pretty much already have all the modifications I'd like to do planned out. Nothing too exciting, the standard fare as FZ-10s go really: - Woodcraft protection - engine covers, frame sliders (already ordered)
- Vagabond fender eliminator
- RhinoMoto bar-ends and mirrors (hate the look and horrendous functionality of the stock mirrors)
- Yamaha heated grips (soooooooo looking forward to these )
- Evotech radiator/oil cooler guards
- Evotech levers (eventually)
- SW-Motech Blaze saddlebags (waaaaaay down the road, when I'm able to do longer trips)
- Akra or Arrow Indy slip-on (again, waaaaaay down the road, completely admit it's only for looks/sound)
Depending on the angle, I kind of like the looks of the Ermax belly pan and seat cover but they're a bit pricey.
I am an avid photographer so I'll hopefully have plenty of pics of my bike once nice weather rolls around.

Welcome to the forum! I imagine you'll be pretty happy with the bike and probably more some if you enjoyed your previous Street triple.
Sounds like you're going to have an amazing picture/build thread upcoming so feel free to keep us updated with your own thread in the Member Galleries section

Yeah, show us some pics of the steed once you get it. I put an Ermax seat cowl on mine (Armor grey), smooths out the look and looks good if you have already removed the passenger pegs. Just depends on what look you like.

Just depends on what look you like. Thanks, I really like the seat cowl, I do ride 2-up on occasion but don't mind removing the cowl from time to time. For me, the belly pan is the "iffy" part, from some angles I've seen it looks really good, in others, it looks a bit cheap and doesn't quite fit the overall looks of the bike.

As previously requested here are a couple of pics of the entire bike with the seat cowl. One thing I never liked was how Yamaha hardly put any fluro coloring on the Armor grey bike itself. I used bulk fluro yellow tape and put a stripe on the tank along with the accents on the cowl, then outlined them with 1/8" dark blue tape. Ties the whole color scheme together, imo, and it can always be removed if I change my mind. I use Tapeworks Graphics (www.tapeworks.com) for all my striping projects.....huge selection of colors and great customer service. The fluro yellow matches the wheels exactly.
I believe the Ermax seat cowl will only work with the stock seat. A lot of people don't like the stock seat but it is ok for me up to about 100 miles, but by that time it is time for lunch or fuel so it isn't an issue. I bought the cowl from Motostarz already painted and it was flawlessly done, perfect finish and exact color match, too.

Picked up the bike this past weekend. Took a few pics and created my FZ-10 gallery. Will be updating it with many, many more photos (eventually).
