Most of the ecu flashes have an option to keep the AIS valve forced closed. If this is the case is there any reason to still do an AIS delete and plates? Besides just removing the unnecessary junk from the motor. Thanks

Only declutter and weight savings if it’s disabled.

“Declutter”, alone is worth something.
At 4000 miles, I was gonna inspect spark plugs, as recommended in the manual. As far as I can tell (I may be wrong), you can’t get plugs out without disconnecting at least some of the AIS stuff in order to move it out of the way. I wasn’t ready to do that on that particular day, so put it back together without checking plugs.
I’ll plan to be ready to remove (permanently) AIS stuff by the time it’s time to change plugs at 8,000 miles.

Very true about the ability to easily check the plugs, but I wouldn't even bother. If the bike is running fine leave it alone. European specs call for replacing plugs at 20,000 km (12,000 mi) and in my experience the plugs will go a lot longer than that. A well maintained machine will probably go 16,000 to 20,000 miles with little effort.

2WDW recommends taking the AIS out even though the flash disables the system....just in case. Besides, what could be more fun than taking your bike apart. lol

I’ve done it many times with other bikes. So, I’m on board. 😎

Besides, what could be more fun than taking your bike apart. lol Having the AIS system on and having a 12 inch blue flame shoot out the exhaust on decel is way more fun lol. The sound it creates, not so much. But the only real advantage to taking it out is less crap on the bike and therefore lower weight. If it's disabled in the flash I wouldn't worry about it until you have to get under the tank or something and then you're already there so you can do it if you want to.
