I was just there on my annual Fall road trip last week - 2,700 miles on the twistiest roads I know of in OR, MT, and ID. It did not suck, except for the below freezing temps for 3 mornings in a row! My buddies C14 & my ZX14R at a fuel stop in Stanley, headed towards Boise. 30 degrees when this pic was taken.

It can be freezing in the AM and then 90 degrees F in the afternoon. I ride up there alot in the summer months, some great twisties heading into Boise on Banner Summit and Idaho city.

Yup, the road from Lowman to Idaho City is one of my favorites, too bad the fires roared through there this summer. It will never be the same...

Yeah those fires have killed a lot of my favorite Dirtbike trails. It's happening every summer now.

Really liking that C14....heated grips? I'd have hand guards and heated grips on at 30F. Of course, I'm from Cali so I'm a weather wuss.

My 2014 KTM 250 XC-W I installed a lectron carb last winter and holy crap, it really woke the bike up.

All my other bikes have heated grips and I also have a heated jacket and heated gloves, mandatory to ride year round in the PNW. I just bought some heated grips for my -10, I already have a power lead for my heated jacket/gloves on it.

It has six speeds but up here I spend alot of time in 2nd or 3rd on the trails. But yeah, when on fire roads or desert I slam it up in 6th and it hauls ass for a 250. Iv'e had it up to 75 which is pretty fast with that 50 tooth rear sprocket.

I put a 48 rear sprocket on and it helped immensely, but still not like the 6 speed.
