Happy Holidays!! Promocode: WBR2 I was surprised to see both that this code still works, and that their price on the comfort seat is ~60 less than everyone else's before shipping. Shipping was $23 for me, but with that code i ended up with an mt-10 comfort seat for $240. Not too shabby.

Hey guys, ready to order the seat. Don't care if it's an FZ-10 or MT-10 anymore. Having said that, the FZ-10 seat retails for $340 and the MT-10 for $300. There must be a difference, no? But what is it? Also looked at one of the sites above, and the price of the former is $250 and the latter $225 (plus shipping). If they're the exact same seat, I'd get the MT; no sense in spending more money for the same thing. But if there's something better about the FZ, I'd get that one. Any way to know what the difference is? Thx.

I looked up the part numbers: MT-10™ Comfort Saddle Item: B67-F47C0-T0-00 Retail: $299.99 FZ-10® Comfort Saddle Item: B67-F47C0-V0-00 Retail: $333.99 Just like you said they have a different part number and price. I suspect the only difference is each is embossed with the respective model 'FZ-10' versus 'MT-10'.

It seems that way indeed. The bases are identical (which is also the same base as stock), the bikes are identical (except the included QS), and both seats look identical (sans the name change), so I bought the MT one. I was hoping the later seats would have the fit issues resolved, but they don't. For some weird reason, the curvature around the tank is tighter, meaning very tight corners (wearing thru the vinyl in many cases, but will address why below), and a gap to the tank in the middle of the curvature. I tried widening the seat (by inserting rags under corners and tank) for days, and it didn't work. Maybe just a hair, but not enough. By the way, there's a litle bit of play in the locking mechanism at the back, which was enough to shorten the tank gap to an acceptable level. But the main issue with the comfort seat is a huge amount of vertical play in front, which coupled with the tight corners, is what wears the corners out down to the plastic in some cases. I assume the stock seat has the same play (same base), but it's not tight at the front, so no wear. In addition, don't remember feeling any play, so it probably sits on the rubber bumpers, like it's supposed to. The comfort seat is 'forced' up against the tank stop, rather than down against the rubber bumpers. Tried to figure out why, but couldn't. Something happened when adding the extra thickness to the seat. At any rate, I solved that issue by gluing (CrazyGlue) the appropriate thick washer cut in half (and grinded at 45º so the seats slides over it easier) under the metal stop tongue. Worked perfectly. Hardly any movement now, but to protect the paint, also added a small strip of black soft Velcro on each side, and worked perfectly. It's invisible on my black (more like a very dark gray), and if there's any movement, it won't harm neither the paint nor the seat. Bottom line is I wasn't expecting having to adapt a factory part, but I'm used to always adapting parts, so not a big deal. And didn't have any other option, so went with it. Seat fits and looks great now, so happy to have spent the time to adapt it correctly.
