Hello everyone
Here is a new happy Mt10 owner from Spain. I was sporting almost happily a Multristrada 1200S for the last two years, and i say almost happily because it was a motorcycle that i did not like in the mornings when i jumped into it but was thoroughly convinced about its abilities when returning home after a quick ride or a trip. It was a bike that has extended abilities to do many things, and all quite well, and this is the trick. One day i made the mistake of testing my buddy's bike a Superduke GT and then i suddenly realized why that bike never convinced me. It was lacking feedback, big time. A jack of all trade is no expert in any. I have a 1 Yr old baby and my time to enjoy motorcycling is much smaller now so i went and looked for a more sporty side of sport touring bike and the options were Superduke R and the MT10-SP
I decided for the MT10 on site just to change a bit the experience of a big twin engine and because i was a bit afraid on the KTM reliability.
I have just done the maiden ride, a quick Sunday blast through my favourite road. It was 6 degrees, freezing cold, and the bike is runing in, but hell i am happy i changed.
On this bike i am more in control of what is happening with the front wheel and it gives me much more feedback than what i am used to. The engine does not have the intensity or the instant hit of torque that the Multi had, (and i havent yet gone over 6K) but the silky smooth and flat torque means that i was riding with one or two gears over what i was using before and that is with shorter gearing, and still 6K more revs to go.
This is going to be good fun, glad i changed.
Still a few things that i will miss from the old bike: the stonking breakes on the duc, the cornering ABS, and the ability to keep me warn in winter... and that will be fixed. The rest, the MT is miles ahead.
Sorry for the extended introduction
See you around
