I’m waiting to see the matte gray in person before ordering. They are supposed to be shipping to dealers this month.

Yamaha website says the 2018 mt’s are shipping to dealers in November. It’s December so has anyone seen one yet?

Just did a nationwide search on CycleTrader and they show NINETEEN 2018's in dealer's stock around the country....pretty even between the gray and blue colors. And they still show 396 new 2017 FZ-10's in dealer stocks around the country so there are plenty of -10's available.

Saw a gray 2018 at the dealer today. The matte looks good. I don’t know which I like better — matte gray or my shiny gray. Definitely comes down to individual preference.
2018 comes with QS standard, it appears — unless the dealer had it added to that particular unit. Otherwise, it looks like the same bike as our 2017 models.

According to the Yamaha website the QS is indeed now standard, a nice little gimme.

Yamaha must of just added the QS update to there website. That wasn’t listed the other day on there site. They just had the updated fuel mapping listed. I just looked at the pics in the photo gallery on Yamaha’s website and zoomed in and there is no QS installed. So must of been a last minute update to the MT line

Hi Crew
I'm not from the US so i'm not sure if this is a marketing ploy by Yamaha with the FZ being badged as 2018. I still don't know what the difference is between the US model FZ & the MT are besides the lettering. I bought my bike here in Australia in April this year and it is badged as 2017, it has the updated mapping and a quick shifter as standard ( up only ) The new mapping makes it a lot smoother on and off the throttle than the previous model. If anyone is wondering about the updated model I can tell you the throttle is much smoother and the quick shifter is great. We also seem to get the blue colour scheme which for whatever reason is missing in the USA. Do you get the SP model there?

No sp model in USA. For 2018 we get the matte gray and a blue.

When do y’all think ride reviews will start popping up on the web for the 2018 models?

Given that the only change is a quickshifter and a fuel map that probably won't be as good as aftermarket tunes,I don't think first ride impressions will differ drastically from those of the 17s. That said, I have a blue 18 reserved at Romney Cycles in WV, and they said it will most likely arrive late Dec or early Jan.

Yeah, the blue in that photo looks sharp. Got a call from my dealer today and mine is in.
