Had my FZ10 for a week now, only got 275 miles so far. Too many obligations and not enough seat time! Weather is awesome, so plenty more to come.
Found a few things that needed attention straight from the dealer. Took a short 50 mile ride and gave the bike a good going over. The chain was very loose, clutch cable too tight, and tyre pressure way off. I straightened all that out and went out again. The tyre pressure adjustment made a huge difference.
I set the suspension sag today at 35mm front and rear and started tweaking. I am using the Fast Bikes settings right now and it feels like quite a good baseline. I have seen recommndations all over the map for sag anywhere from 10mm to 40mm for street use. I weigh about 190 before gear and feel 35mm is about perfect for the stock rear shock. I don't think I could get it much shorter without changing spring rate. Hopefully this will be good enough so I don' have to talk myself into giving Öhlins a big chunk of cash!

I'm glad to hear someone else struggled with the rear shock. I messed with that stupid shock for at least the first 400 miles. I'm happy with what I ended up with, even put small marks with a sharpie in case it ever gets touched again.

Penske front springs and rear shock replacement makes a HUGE difference from a well adjusted stock setup.

Penske front springs and rear shock replacement makes a HUGE difference from a well adjusted stock setup. Will look into that when I get a few more miles. Only got 450 miles so far, but tires are scrubbed to the edge. Will finish up with break in next week or two and push a little harder.
