A fairly good analysis of the FZ's characteristics, strengths and weaknesses. A little too much time spent on its track abilities, I would guess 98% of owners spend their time on the street and not the track. Surprised there was no mention of tire wear, if they did a lot of track work and then enough road mileage to rack up 3,400 miles I'm surprised they had any tread left, mine was toast at 3,000 miles.
My biggest fault is the schizophrenic gas gauge, it is essentially useless to the point I just rely on the trip meter to figure out when I need gas. I shoot for 125 miles which is when my gauge starts flashing.
Cycle World just announced their 2017 Ten Best, the Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 RR got the Best Standard award, but the FZ-10 got an honorable mention. If the Aprilia wasn't in the mix the FZ-10 'might have ruled the Best Standard class'. 'Incredible value and flexibility from Yamaha' according to CW.

I mostly agree with the article. Rearsets and some sintered front pads sort out the FZ10 in the track quite nicely. And sticky tires of course.

I somehow got 4700 out of the OEM rear. The front looks like it could go another 6-8k. Time to swap on some PR4s though!
