Hey fella's,
New, potential owner here.
Has anyone found a solution to the snatchy throttle in B mode?
Im currently rolling around on a 2016 Ducati Multistrada which is smooth as silk no matter the throttle/power mode. As it stands, I really want a four cylinder engine to round out my stable and I have no brand loyalty so I figured I would take a look at the FZ10.
This past weekend I went to a Yamaha demo ride to check out the FZ10. I immediately started cycling through the power modes and settled on B mode as that is supposed to be the full power mode. I ride my Multi in sport at all times as I want the maximum performance possible out of my machines for most of the riding that I do. Im hardly a track star but I enjoy having a powerful bike.
I immediately noted that the second I went into B mode, the throttle felt like it had an inch of play before it engaged. Upon engaging, the bike would simply jerk. No manner of throttle control or smooth rollon would alleviate this issue. It was like on or off and you would immediately hit a wall no matter your speed. I read a few threads on here about how riders who cant handle B are poor riders, their wife is fat and they're losers. However, for anyone with half a brain, learning how to smoothly roll on a motorcycle throttle is hardly an advanced skill. This leads me to believe that the throttle mapping software was just poorly programmed and implemented.
Does anyone have a solution to the issue? Im hardly the only one as there are several threads on this forum yet none of them have any solutions.
Thanks for the help fella's. I really appreciate it and I really hope there's a solution as I want to love the FZ10, however, all of the pluses to the bike are over shadowed by horrific ride by wire programming.

Check out 2wheeldynoworks section on this forum. A lot of people say that his ecu flash cured their snappy throttle blues. Call Nels and tell him what's going on and he can offer expert advice

The flash will fix a lot, the stock fuel injector cutoff doesn't help.. that said I didn't find stock fueling to be as bad as described.. there was too much slack in the throttle cables when I first got my -10 but a quick cable adjust did the trick, could be that. With that said, I've come to appreciate the other ride modes in heavy traffic. Sometimes you don't need instant throttle response in bumper to bumper.

I bought the fz10 without a test ride and I agree on the throttle being a little snappy, combined that with light throttle pull, it's pretty hard to precisely control the throttle especially in low speed maneuver. I only use the STD mode now and compared that to my SF848 and zx-636, it is still not ideal.
Have anyone look into the G2 Throttle tamer yet? I prefer not to flash the ECU if possible to keep the warranty a little longer.

Until I can get the tune, a throttle tamer and boosterplug smoothed mine WAY the hell out.
