So, I've changed the oil on the FZ10 a couple of times and as we all know, the oil drain plug requires a 6 mm allen wrench to remove it and frankly, whatever genius at Yamaha came up with this design should be fired because most drain plugs use a bolt head for better grip. NOT the FZ. The inset portion of the plug became bunged up making the plug difficult to remove or tighten sufficiently.
The solution is to order a new oil drain plug from an FZ09 that DOES have a bolt head design that a normal ratchet wrench can remove or tighten with ease.
Problem solved

Another option would be the Gold Plug option MP-02. 17mm head to easily ratchet off. I ended up getting one and it works great. The added magnetic tip may be overkill but it does give a nice warm and fuzzy.

Or the Stahlbus quick drain valve, no plug removal necessary, loving mine so far...
