nice, you should gut out the cat. sounds way better without the honeycombs.

I am very curious about this. I have the decat pipe on mine with the stock muffler, and as everyone knows its raspy, hast hat hallow cheap sound to it. then again it gets me thinking, has anyone just tried repacking the factory muffler?

That looks really nice. Did it take a lot of work to install ? I didn't do the install myself. I sent it to A&R so they could develop one for our bikes. So they installed it in the process. From what I saw on the r1 install videos it doesn't seem very difficult. nice, you should gut out the cat. sounds way better without the honeycombs. I will most likely decat it in the near future. Haven't got much ride time in to decide whether I want to or not. I am very curious about this. I have the decat pipe on mine with the stock muffler, and as everyone knows its raspy, hast hat hallow cheap sound to it. then again it gets me thinking, has anyone just tried repacking the factory muffler? This baffle kit comes with packing and the mesh screen to do exactly that. It replaces the original factory baffle.

Now I havent taken the factory can apart but why not just repack the factory baffle? Was there any packing in there when you took yours apart?

I didn't get to see in mine but from what I was told our muffler is very close to the r1 muffler. It does have packing in it you could replace but the factory baffle is much smaller than this one. It would also be much more difficult to reuse the stock baffle considering you have to remove the spot welds to get it put. This kit doesn't require any welding

No problem. I really like this option because it is much cheaper than a slip on. The stock can looks good in my opinion so if you only want a little more volume and don't want to do a decat then a slip on is pretty pricey for what it is. I will be getting into touch with them this week. They're waiting on my input prior to production so as soon as I hear more details I will update the thread. They're pretty quick to respond but not sure how the holiday will effect there response time.

I was wondering about that...the fact that they only advertise for the r1, I figured it might be the same baffle. Well maybe I should ask them if they want to try one on a decatted fz?? Lol

I'm also curious to know how it sounds on a decatted bike. Curious how loud it would be. I should here something back from them tomorrow.

Just got word from A&R Motorsports. Everything is a go and the kits will be listed at $109.99 plus shipping. I didn't get an exact time frame when they will be available but it shouldn't be to long.
