Just picked up my FZ10 a week ago, love the bike, added a windscreen, fender eliminator and Delkevic 3/4 exhaust. Came off a Ninja 1000 and this FZ seems to run really hot in traffic. Ambient temp is 82 degrees in traffic in 1st and 2nd gear and the bike gets up to 225 degrees and the heat off the engine is insane on my legs. I am wondering how hot others are getting. I can't even run around with shoes on since it just cooks my exposed ankles.

Get the ECU flashed and make sure the fan temp gets changed to turn on at 195 when you do. It'll never get over 210ish after that.

Yes, the bike gets very hot, very quickly in traffic. But when going at 70 mph+ it will run around 170 deg. I don't ride much in traffic so it really isn't an issue for me. Whether it runs at 225 or 210 if you adjust the setting probably isn't going to make much difference to the engines reliability, ICE are heat engines, they are designed to run at elevated temps. Lower temps aren't necessarily better or help anything.
