So I was riding in a right turn lane when someone in an Elantra decided that they wanted to turn into a parking lot; causing him to turn into me ... luckily I held the bike up and the guy came to a stop ... his car got it worse than the bike but it was also a piece of shit and my brand new fz10 now has a small scratch on the headlight plastics ... I'm so mad that this asshole could have killed me and wasn't even given a ticket ...

You're ok and the bikes ok. In the end you're all that matters. Glad you're alright.

Yea the bike has minor damage on the head light plastics ... my girl almost got arrested because she lost it when the cop said he wasn't getting a ticket ... even with a witness statement from a third party it was up to " her discretion " ... in very grateful no one was hurt ... but very frustrated about the way the situation was handled by the cop and that the guy just said hey fuck it in turning and not look to see who is around me ... The nose of the bike did this ... how is there any argument that I was passing him on the right   |

Guy in the car should have gotten a ticket. That's fucked. What is your insurance saying?

Glad you and your girl are ok and no serious injuries. I agree that the driver should have gotten a ticket. At lest the damage to the bike is minor, relatively speaking. Keep us posted on wether insurance will cover repairs.

I just (literally) had something similar happen to me. I was turning right and someone decided to cut across the lane (at a round about). They hit my front wheel but only just. I just about got thrown off. Very scary moment! No damage from first looks - just to my nerves! Silly woman didn't even stop - just carried on like nothing happened.  |

The headlight is one plastic assembly and expensive. It's worth inspecting for cracks by removing the covers. While your there take a look at the frame tab for the steering stabilizer. If that cracks....frame replacement.
You should still file a claim with their insurance.
