Hey there! I'm a 39-year-old rider from sunny Victoria in Canada. I liked riding my wife's FZ-07 so much, that over the last month, I've decided to upgrade my CBR 600RR for an FZ-10. I can't really enjoy riding legally on my 600RR...as soon as your stuck behind a truck on the twisties or going the speed limit or in stop-and-go traffic, the fun factor drops to 2/10 megafunzies and the ride sucks. By comparison, my wife's FZ-07 is 7/10 megafunzies to ride at the speed limit, and 8/10 when riding extra-legally. So, I've read all the reviews out there and have settled on the FZ-10, which has an inline-4 engine (like my 600RR) and more power everywhere. I'm not totally keen on the futurist styling of the FZ-10, but I don't hate it either. It's all about the engine for me. I test rode an FZ-10 during the Yamaha Demo Days at the stealership, and was quite impressed, even though I couldn't stretch the legs on the authorized demo ride. Anyway, I was planning on waiting a few years before selling my supersport and picking up a good used FZ-10, but after looking into it, I talked myself into just going for it now and trading in my 600RR. So, I ordered the 2017 FZ-10 in matte black and I pick it up this coming Thursday. Congratulations! You'll definitely love the -10! If I read that correctly, your province is having problem with forest fire right now. Hope you're far away from that!

Yeah, every year in British Columbia (my province), there are forest fires in the summer. BC is a pretty big province though, and I live on the coast of the Pacific Ocean, quite far away from where the fires tend to blaze. I have some relatives who live inland though, a few hours drive from fires, so it gets a bit smokey sometimes but they've never been evacuated or anything. We're all pretty safe where we're at, and we feel pretty blessed.

I picked up my brand new black FZ-10 from the dealership this morning, and have just started the hard break-in of the engine. The bike is even sweeter than I remember it from the test drive I took on it. I gave the few fairings a wax, and am absolutely loving the bike so far. I can't explain why, but the bike looks so much better in person than in pictures, and that engine sound is amazing.  safe image upload |
