Hi all. Common problem : I don't like the comfort of the stock seat after a long ride. My '10 R1 was much better. Stock seat, looks OK to me. Comfort seat Yamaha, don't like the looks, quite old fashion. Seat Concepts, looks OK. After the group buy for the Seat Concepts, I was wondering what's your opinion/experience about your seat(s)? Looks / comfort. Is it better than original/comfort seat? Otherwise, it's also possible to customize the stock seat (Saddlecraft UK), quote: Many people complain about the lack of comfort and I suggest fitting one of our gel pads and an extra 15 to 20mm of foam. We can then cover the seat however you like. What do you think, is it better to customize the stock seat? Or is the Seat Concepts the way to go?

I think by "comfort" you may be speaking of this saddle "FZ-10® Comfort Saddle B67-F47C0-V0-00":
www.shopyamaha.com/product/details/fz-10-comfort-saddle?b=Hyper+Naked+Accessories&d=46&f=2017|307&dealernumber=
It's the one I have and I can ride endlessly on it. For the record, I'm 6', 190lbs and it takes me just fine for long rides (hours on end) without any complaints, compared to the stock seat.
IMHO, you can't go wrong with this purchase and I recommend it 100%.
Worst case scenario, try it out for 30 days, if you're not satisfied with it them return it and move on.
Good luck!

I have the stock seat and it's ok for my use. I normally don't go more than 80 miles before stopping for lunch, and it is fine for that distance. Then another 70 or 80 miles to get home and I'm happy. If I was going longer distances I'd probably change the seat.

Seat concepts is an awesome deal. More custom options, lower price. They do seats for all my bikes since 2012.
Big on the fz07 and FJ-09 forums too with a ton of riders. Tall seat, or a low seat. Grippy seat or carbon seat. So many choices, better price.

I didn't have a comfort issue with the stock seat but hated the looks. I went with Seat Concepts and was quite happy with the looks, materials, workmanship and foam density.

I just wish seat concept would sell the whole seat. I second that. Sending seat off is not my preferred method.

I have the genuine Yamaha FZ-10 comfort seat. I have no problem with the looks of it. I harken back to '86 Banshee .two thumbs way up. Although it doesn't match the modern animalistic, muscular aggressive style/looks and stance of the FZ-10. Comfort wise it gets a 6/10. I honestly dont think a comfortable seat can be made for someone my size, I bought the FZ-10 for its seat height, power and kickass styling... never taking into account that my large frame 6'1";275lbs may be too much for the suspension and seating. I need some direction about getting it setup to handle my weight +120-130lbs (wife). I've been told I can not spend any more than $500US on the bike as per my boss (wife). I need a solution my fellow F'Zed heads.

This answer I receive from Seat Concept.
Thanks for reaching out. We apologize, but the FZ10 seat is not available as a complete unit. the listing did have that in a portion of the product details but this was an unfortunate typo, as a lot of that information is pasted into our listings in bulk. Thank You, Seat Concepts/Quad Tech

I'm satisfied: Saddle Craft Seating has finished my stock seat. I like the way it looks, with a Ermax cover it still looks like a monoseat. It's much more comfortable now.
Lee did a great job!
