fzwaffle,
love to hear your thoughts about this once you get it and install it. love the look of the Akra 3/4 system, but not thrilled about spending $1400 for it, and haven't heard it in person to determine if I like it. I'd love to be able to reutilize the stock can, but slv tried using the stock can with other mid-pipes (Mivv, I think, but there are others, too) and stated it was obnoxiously loud, so he went to a 3/4 Yosh system. I don't want to be obnoxiously loud, but I would like a little more sound, so maybe this is the way forward?
regards, Tony

I had the same problem. Decat and midpipe +stock exhaust = obnoxiously loud. Ended up with a Graves pipe and it was just the same. I had a machinist make a silencer for the exhaust and it's much better. But for the money I spent I could have bought the 3/4 Yoshimura system.

I have the Austin Racing GP1R exhaust on my bike right now. I always ride with earplugs and I find that it is the perfect volume level for me when I'm riding. I tried riding with the baffle in for a while and it makes it decently quiet but makes the sound all raspy which I did not like. I have the baffle out again and it sounds amazing. I'm pretty sure its very loud for drivers and pedestrians around me but I don't really care much for them. I hate drivers here because they are always texting and driving and I can see them doing that in my mirrors so they can just suck it and enjoy my loud bike.

Decel pop was a sharp report. The Yoshi 3/4 I have now has a deeper tone, popping is greatly reduced and sounds like a deep boom, and overall a little quieter. Its still the loudest bike I've owned but I don't care. Most of the time I clutch in and rev the motor instead of using the horn. I asked Graves about the hideously long can on their decat exhaust ( Graves Decat Exhaust) when it first came out and they replied that the can had to be that long to get the sound levels down to the target demographic.

Going to pick up the decat pipe today, will post a bunch of pictures. I still gotta get the block off plates and send out the ecu before I install it. I share the same opinion as guywithfz10

Fantastic! If you can take a pic with flash from the outlet side of the decat pipe it looks like you may be able to get a glimpse of what the inside of the little resonator looks like. I'm wondering if its contains a baffle or just open space.

According to Leo Vince USA, it is an in-line pre-silencer, straight through design.
Cheers,

I don't mind the Graves exhaust but I wish they had it in silver logo like on the R1 version. I'm personally not a fan of carbon exhaust cans. I think the design fits sport bikes very well but not so much for naked bikes.

I haven't had time to get pictures, I do have it in hand. Super high quality, it is straight through small resonator. Ill get pictures up before and after I install it.
