WOW, You seriously got 3-4 mpg more just by 520 and gearing change? Don't get too excited, that's like 12-15 miles to each fill up, so almost a gallon every other stop, for my area $3.90. Unless you're taking it to the track, just do your tooth count and leave a 525 on it. It's safer and most people that ride probably wouldn't even ride the 10 to it's full potential where they would need to go down a chain size.

17 FZ10, ECU reflash, Hindle exhaust and one tooth down on the front sprocket. At 78 mph and elevation at 5000ft in NM, I am getting 42mpg.

I average about 32-33 with balanced riding. A little hooligan and a little cruising. I notice the best fuel economy is at 5-5.5k RPM. Flashed ECU by 2WDW and cat delete with LV can.

I'm averaging 29.5 over the life of the bike (9600 miles) according to the dash. According to the Fuelly app though it's 28.049. But that can change slightly if you don't fill to the exact same level every single time.

Ok, ok Iβll give ya a brake then. The stoplights are probably what are killing ur MPG. We donβt have many stoplights here on the coast, thank goodness.

Mine is stock, a mix of local and brisk riding gets me averaging 30-33mpg. When I commute on the freeway at 65-75 mph, I've averaged 36-38mpg. I'm think of going to a 42 rear sprocket like the 2022 MT to improve the mpg.

The extra power & grunt gained will to offset that gearing change. Previous owner had a 15T front sprocket installed. I changed it back the stock 16T and went 41t rear at the same time. No noticable change in mpg. I also have no issues doing a power wheelie in 3rd if I want. It did tame 1st and 2nd gear insta wheelies which was the goal.
