What are you all using for a code reader. I’ve tried two different ones. I bought two cables. Nothing will communicate. Is there something that will hook up to a laptop? I’ve seen people on here using OBD2 reader but I can’t get it to work? Thanks

I have an Autel #AL 301 c/w the 4 pin adaptor.Connects but shows jack all for codes when bike for sure has fuel/air related problems.I used it on an 11' Ford Escape and it pulls sn# and not much more* although that vehicle has no air/fuel issues.Difference I'd say from a cheap reader to the capabilities of a scanner. There are some that you can plug in and leave on bike and with a downloadable app. track real time parameters.Yamaha has the diagnostic tool which may be proprietary insofar as properly snagging codes as well as access to tuning like capabilities or manipulation? Maybe someone could weigh in if they have one as well as cost and it's capabilities.

I have a craftsmen reader that I’ve used for years and works great with cars. Also bought a new cheap one because I thought other one might be too old. Neither will communicate with the bike at all.
