Hello, has anyone experienced where the trip meter cycle button stopped working? I am unable to switch what shows up on the display. Just wondering if anyone else has seen this happen and know of a fix at home. don’t really wanna take this to the dealer if it’s something simple. TIA.

Try disconnecting the battery overnight so the bike completely discharges any remaining energy in capacitors? Can't think of how many times I've fixed electrical gremlins with something so simple.

Could just be dirt in the switch contacts since it's facing forwards on the handlebars. If you're mechanically inclined at all it shouldn't take much more than a Phillips driver to get the LH switch housing off and apart then you can clean the contacts and apply some dielectric grease. If you're not comfortable then definitely don't go poking around in there though

So… it is not only the cycle through the display button that is not working. It also the clock set button and the reset button. went through all the fuses. not sure what’s going on

That sucks, I don’t really have an answer for that, my guess would be the display unit itself, but not sure.

Ya. Took everything apart. The left control is in and the display. Hit them with contact cleaner and dusted anything that was obvious. Nothing fixed. When the bike sits for a day, the buttons work for a little bit, then they stop working. So I’m not sure what the actual issue is. Luckily, I have a 16,000 mile service soon. Scheduled for them to check what the issue is, and probably replace some shot. Oh well… I’ll post an update of what they find the issue to be in about 2 weeks.

Update for today. And more info since I forgot to mention a critical fact about all this. Critical fact: it rained here in Sacramento, just forgot that it doesn’t rain in the rest of the world at the same time 😂 anyway. I think the issue was because of water damage on one of the buttons.
Update for today: I was cleaning my bike because it was grimy from the rain. It looks like the buttons all work for now, since the bike has been drying for the last 2 days. My theory is, once it rains again, the buttons will go to crap again. So I might just have the dealer order new parts and replace them right now anyway.

That's strange. I've had my bike in the rain on multiple occasions and have never had a flaky button issue

That's strange. I've had my bike in the rain on multiple occasions and have never had a flaky button issue I know, I’ve been in the rain before as well… I did notice a little crack on the reset button rubber. So maybe water got in? But when I took the display apart, I didn’t see anything wet at all. 🤷♂️

After looking at Wiring Diagram, SELECT switch has two wire W/G (White Green) and common B/W (Black White) which goes to Meter Assembly from Handle Bar switch (left) through connectors. If CLOCK and RESET on Meter are also not working along with SELECT switch, high possibility of issue with METER assembly, it can be simple as moisture thru broken seal or complicated as internal fried component. Otherwise it would be either switch or connectors.
