Hello, I have never had my ECU flashed before but I plan on getting one for my 2022 mt-10 once I get my akrapovic exhaust. First I was wondering who the best company is to perform flashes on Mt-10s (leaning towards 2WDW). Secondly, how much will the MPG be affected? As it is already pretty low I am worried about lowering it even more. And then lastly does ecu flashing void my warranty or cause any problems with diagnostics etc? Thanks.

Who does it is just what you prefer. 2WDW is good and they disable the AIS so you don't need to install block offs to stop the popping and backfiring. It's my understanding that they have maps for most configurations too. People like Moore Mafia are good as well but I don't think they offer as much. MPG on mine woth a 2WDW flash is 28-32 depending on how hard I'm running it. Don't know about the warranty, your dealer would be able to tell you about it. It's a pretty common thing so they'll know for sure. Any kind of diagnostic stuff would be unchanged.

So the 2WDW is completely plug and play?

It's a pretty common thing so they'll know for sure. Any kind of diagnostic stuff would be unchanged. The 22's are slightly different then the previous generation when it comes to tunes. I've asked Nate at 2wdw about all the below info so it's accurate. AIS can't be disabled in the tune so block off plates or plug are needed so it doesn't pop and bang. Also if you will need to either keep the AIS and EXUP plugged in or use a servo buddy on both of you want to retain cruise control. You also have to leave the O2's plugged in or cruise control won't work. O2'S are disabled in the tune but the computer needs to see the signal for cruise control, it's weird. So far as mgp, you can expect a loss of a few mpg as removing the cat means the bike needs more fuel. Lastly warranty can only be voided if they prove the modification caused the problem. For instance if you flash your bike and the screen stops working they will still fix it. If you blow it up and it's flashed though it will be hit or miss on what they do.

Good point on the 22 info, I missed that part. Mine is a 19 and had a Moore flash when I bought it, it was getting about 30ish MPG for the 4 days I rode it before parking it for an exhaust and flash. PO put an ebay exhaust on it and was too loud even with foam earplugs.
The plates are easy in my opinion, it's just nuts bolts and a couple hoses. Pull the tank up, loosen the airbox and remove it, the AIS is under there. Should just unplug and unbolt then you fasten the plates in their place. There's guides on youtube. The pops and bangs aren't harmful by the way, it's just preference. Some tuners have maps to make more pops and I've even seen Moore make one sound clean and smooth but breathe fire on decel if you put just a light twist on the throttle. If you're not sure then the best thing you could do is just change one thing at a time until it's exactly how you like it.

Granted, you're on a '22; My '20 gets about 27 MPG with the MM Tune.

my 22 is averaging 37 mpg on my round trip commute (10 miles of surface roads and 20 miles of freeway) and 33 mpg when I use it to have "fun".
i'm waiting to receive my AR exhaust (week 14 of waiting so hopefully it'll arrive soon) then will send my ECU to 2WDW. I'll come back and report my new mpg once I have the exhaust and the flash

With the AR and ECU flash by 2wdw it’s a whole new beast. I love it.
MPG went down a bit though. 34-35 mpg on my commute (75-80 mph on the freeway) and 29-30 mpg if I want to giggle like a kid.

My 2019 has the flash and a 42 tooth rear sprocket. Riding between 60-80 in 5th and 6th gears I got 39 mpg. When I started giving it more stick, it drops to about 30-32 mpg.
