Hi All,
I recently got into a slow-speed accident on my MT10. The damage to the bike is likely going to be expensive to fix. The two things i am most concerned about are a snapped steering damper mount and bent front forks.
For the steering damper mount, does anyone know if there if anything that can be done to fix this without replacing the entire frame? Are there any aftermarket dampers that i can put elsewhere on the bike that would make the bike more safe to drive?
For the front forks i have been trying to find used parts online but unfortunately there is not much out there. Does the MT10 use the same forks as an R1? I have seen a few used R1 forks out there but not sure if they would fit on the MT10.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Not sure what to do about the steering damper mount, but the 2015 to 2022 R1 forks will bolt right on. The difference is in the valving of the R1 forks compaired to the MT-10 forks. Look up the Dave Moss videos on the R1.

If any part of the frame of the bike is damaged it's totaled. You could try to have someone weld on a new mount for the damper, but that's a pretty big deal. Sorry man.

I had the same happen on my 2017, I had a specialist alloy welder weld back the broken tab and retap the thread, bit of black paint and it looks factory. He used the correct pre and post heating techniques in the weld for that particular frame. I am as confident as I can be in the repair. Better than it being totalled.
