hello, i recently finally got my cat removed and the ecu flashed as well.
Holy shit, now this is the bike I subscribed to when I bought it. It went from pretty chill- holy smokes, weeeeeeee. And i only slapped a leovince decat with the stock can. The most entertaining part is how hard the deceleration pop of this bike is so far. I haven't had a huge dumb, shit eating grin this large that I broadcast through my clear visor to the guy besides me at a stoplight.
Can someone explain to me about decel popping, the problems around it and why I should get a backplate?
my exhaust note with stock + leovince is quite tame but the huge POP seems to be way too addictive to remove. Am i just being obnoxious or is the mt10 specifically very good at doing this?

If you got the ECU flashed it shouldn't be popping at all as they typically disable the AIS valve so it stays closed all the time

Had mine flashed by 2wdw and went with the ftecu active tune with a 3/4 yoshi exhaust and I have absolutely no popping on deceleration!

I think you mean/need block off plates.

I had the same flash done on my MT09 after putting a full exhaust system Akra and had popping on decel. contacted 2wdw and they told me putting block off plates will stop it (even though they disabled the AIS valve in the flash). After putting block off plates it was fine. I still don’t understand why I had popping if the AIS was disabled or they thought they did but actually didn’t?

Not sure if your MT-09 AIS is in default closed position like the 2020 MT-10. I confirmed that the AIS was default closed with 2WDW when I got my flash. I can’t say every production year is default closed as I only inquired about 2020. Don’t have any decel backfire on my bike.

If the AIS valve doesn't fully seal shut for whatever reason it could let air in and still allow the popping
