Hello!
My bike is experiencing battery drain when just standing. I have tried multiple batteries, including brand new Yausa 10S (OEM).
After standing for ~4 days it won't start. So the battery is not the problem here. I have measured the draw when key is off and it draws ~0.4ma. I have no accessories connected. I am truley lost for what could be the casue.
Hope anyone can give me some insight!
Thanks!

I had similar issue on my R1M couple of year ago, but that was a bad battery. Looks like your max Amp draw for battery (9.1 Ah) Yuasa YTZ10S should be around 3.8mA when its completely OFF and just parked with no accessories or circuit alive (you are recording only ~0.4mA). Still battery drain could be a short in some electrical circuit i.e. drawing amps, it might be issue with battery leads (since you have changed batteries couple of times...), ground negative connection problem or worst: a parasitic amp draw (sometimes hard to find)... For short, you can check your main fuse, any broken or burnt wiring. Also check regulator and rectifier, if they are faulty your battery will run out of juice. You can check for parasitic or excessive amps draw using a correct Multimeter rated atleast 10A (to avoid blowing meter fuse), connect it in series with negative terminal. This way any unusual Amps you see might be parasitic amp draw. You have to disconnect relays, circuits, fuses to find out which circuit is drawing unnecessary amps. Highly recommend to start with basic and easy thing to knock out those possibilities (most cases problem lies on easy stuff if vehicle is properly maintained).

A failing regulator/rectifier can cause unwanted power drain, so maybe worthwhile unplugging that and seeing if the drain changes. You can also selectively remove a fuse at a time to see if you can narrow down where the loss is occurring.
I've only flattened my battery once on the MT, but I suspect I had the key in "park" not "lock".

I have the same issue and I have a new battery too. I've been having to put it on a tender if it is sitting for 3 or more days.

To clarify, the charging of the battery in the bike works perfect. The only problem is draining when off. My guess is that it starts to drain after a while, since when I have measured so far it has only drawn 0.4ma. I guess I will have to setup the multimeter and a GoPro on timelapse mode or something like that to see what the crap is going on.

I am getting somewhere. When first attaching my multimeter to the bike it was stuck at pulling 100ma, did this for a very long time. I put the key in to remove the handlebar lock so I could start accessing fuse boxes and pull fuses. After removing the handlebar lock it went down to the normal 0.4ma. I am presuming because the bike moved slighly as it was consistenly doing 100 before. Doing some quick maths on this, the battery is 9Ah. 100ma would drain the battery in 90 hours or 3.75 days. This is precicley the timespan I am seeing. Now I just need to figure out how I can get the bike to pull 100ma again...

Well that's interesting. I wouldn't think turning the key to the lock position would do anything electrically. Are you in the US? Does your bike have the immobilizer? The US bikes don't get it, I wonder if the switch is goofy internally causing the problem. Here's the switch pinout from the service manual - might be worth a check

So I feel like a moron. Because I always engage my steering lock, I accidentally pulled the switch to Park.. The reason here is, I come from an MT-07. On that bike I believe there was a extra notch down you had to push the key to engage park. My habit therefor is to just engage steering lock, push the key as far as it goes and pull it out. Turns out, when the MT-10 is in park, it pulls 100ma, which all checks out. I will be sure to put it in lock only and update once I know for certain that was the problem.
Yamaha even warns that it will drain the battery.

I hope that was the problem! it will save you from electrical troubleshooting nightmare. All the best

That is not my situation, since I don't lock mine in the garage. still trying to figure out my issue. I'll probably check my battery later today, despite being new.
