I’m guessing the power outlet that comes on the bike from factory is not water resistant? Does it need to be covered when it rains? I’m considering getting the wireless charger from quad lock which is water resistant but if I have to remove the cable that supplies the power every time it rains, it defeats the purpose. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

Unfortunately that's the only way in case of rain. you have to close DC Outlet with sleeve-cover (shown below) provided to avoid any short or water seepage. In older models, this DC Outlet was installed sideways and water failing directly into it was rare. I would suggest put a sleeve on male connector where your wireless charger is getting fed. Seal it with DC Outlet (use sealant where sleeve end on cable). Drawback: you have to cut sleeve to remove male plug.

since they give you a plug I'd assume no. My bike is rarely out in the rain and as such my adapter and cable are almost always in. If i'm at work and Is ee rain coming I'll run out and pull the adapter out and close the cap.

Follow up question to this. I have prev gen FZ-10, I think prev owner must have had the cover off and it's shorted out. Is there a fuse associated with it? I've checked owners and service manuals and unable to locate an associated fuse. otherwise will I have to change the whole thing out?

That seems like a good idea. I'm going to pick up the wireless charging head at some point, maybe ask the wife to get it and this adapter for me for christmas lol Follow up question to this. Well the parts diagram lists it as "TERMINAL, COMP" (#30 - www.partzilla.com/catalog/yamaha/motorcycle/2019/mt10-mt10kb/electrical-1) and the manual lists "Terminal Fuse 1" as being 2.0A so that might be it - check that one. The manual on page 8-194 lists a 2.0A "Auxiliary" fuse as well. In the wiring diagram #17 is the AUX fuse and #114 is the DC jack which is fed directly from that 2.0A AUX fuse.

I was thinking of something like this. It would be easy to seal it to the cable and have it pushed against the outlet to cover it. Cigarette outlet is 21mm and this is for a 25mm hole. So it should have enough coverage even if you don't seal it against the outlet. a.co/d/3rBda4j
